Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary] Started conversation Apr 28, 2005
Right, so this is how it goes...
I love postcards. I have a whole load of them on the wall above my bed, from all sorts of places that I've been to and that I haven't been to (yet).
Now, seeing as the list of my h2g2-friends stretches pretty much around the globe, I got to thinking how cool it could be to make some sort of a 'h2g2 section' on my wall (or door, or somewhere, wherever I have room to put stuff).
So I have a request:
It would be really really great if you lot could each get a postcard - even a blank postcard if you don't feel like writing anything - of where you live, and send it over to:
P.O. Box two-four-one-six-eight, Jerusalem, Israel.
Of course, if you'd like a Jerusalem postcard in return, send me your address and there'll be one on the way swiftly.

The minute I find some, very preferrably of my specific locale, you can be sure some will be "winging" across the waters.
Unless you'd be satisfied with a Tim Horton's brochure?

Ooh, shall I see if I can find a postcard of Canterbury that doesn't include a picture of the cathedral? It might take me a while...

you want a summery or a wintery landscape? (pretty much the only things they put on postcards in finland...)

I have one of yours right in front of me even as we squeak!
I shall send you one of jolly old Angouleme ASAP, may have to wait till payday (6th) though, no idea how much postage is from France to Israel.
I could stick a little painting in too if you like?

Where's this competition then?
What sounds suspicious, the postcard idea, the competition or the bookstore?

Everything is suspicious! I think that Yael will use the postcards, give them to the Israeli government, and they'll use them as part of their invasion plans!

Well I'm going to get a postcard of Washington and send that. They could do with an invasion!

I just checked the store here at the Johnson Space Center... the only postcard they had was a picture of the Sun. Just doesn't seem to be the thing on which I'd want to write "wish you were here".
I'll stop by the souvenier shop at lunch off site at lunch.
