Okie dokie.

You asked me my opinions about various things in Post 54 - I don't think this is the best thread for them. If you start up anothe thread about them, or let me know where a suitable thread is already taking place, I'll drop by.

Tube - the being being back for the time being

Right. I just read the whole of this thread in one go smiley - online2long
And I'm not sure I understood the official position on the main question of this.

<./>Scouts-What</.>
"If you think an entry is more suited to a different Review Forum, you should try to persuade the author to remove it from Peer Review and re-submit it to another Review Forum. Only in cases where the author refuses to consider a move should you ask the Editors to get involved - it is much better if Peer Review is kept clean by those who are using it."

If I write an entry which some think good in PR and some think it nonsense and Scout XYZ (one out of 36) comes along and "strongly suggests" to remove the entry from PR:
- Am I forced to do so?

And if the answer is yes, then what degree of 'force'?

Thanks!
Tube

PS: Sorry if I missed the answer in the backlog. smiley - grovel

Dear Tube,

> If I write an entry which some think good in PR and some think it nonsense and Scout XYZ (one out of 36) comes along and "strongly suggests" to remove the entry from PR:
- Am I forced to do so?

Strictly speaking no, and the Scout should probably present a case for taking the entry out of Peer Review and will be backed up by a consensus among Community members. In theory an entry can be discussed at length and never leave Peer Review. Mostly entries that are forcibly removed from Peer Review are entries written by long-gone one visit Researchers. Removing them helps the Scouts keep PR manageable.

> And if the answer is yes, then what degree of 'force'?

I think force is the wrong word. Scouts should ask politely and suggest that someone takes an entry out of Peer Review.

> PS: Sorry if I missed the answer in the backlog

I'm not sure that this did crop up in the backlog!

Hope that helps,

Anna

Eh? I didn't think scouts had the technology to actually do the removing. smiley - erm

I don't think thats what she mean't. I think she means, that the person asked removes it, and that only that person (except under special circumstances) can remove it. If I'm right I'm more than happy living with this smiley - smiley.

Yes, yes, sorry. The author of an entry can remove the entry from Peer Review if they're persuaded to do so - or one of the inhouse team can. We usually remove entries which are along the lines of a one sentence description of Swindon posted by someone who was just passing through never to be seen again.

Anna, do you realise that if you had said that to Hoovooloo when he originally asked the question, then he would still be writing for the edited guide?
