What's Tiramisu and why the long spoon?

Post 101

Given it's the 'remainder' tiramisu in the fridge it must have had some redeeming qualities?

All I've got is some mouldy carrots and a few limp lettuce leaves smiley - blush

Redeeming qualities?

1. It's only ten feet away
2. It's edible (if not yummy)
3. There isn't anything else

Mouldy carrots and limp lettuce - are they for the bunny in the Westinghouse? smiley - smiley

smiley - laughsmiley - laugh

Unfortunately it's a Fisher and Paykel. I could rename it a Westinghouse smiley - smiley but I googled them the other day and see they're also nuclear reactor manufacturers smiley - sadface

A nuclear reactor in the kitchen though - that could be entertaining smiley - bigeyes

I thought I recognised the name from something else. I suppose nuclear reactors and cooling technologies do go hand in hand smiley - erm (Well, you sort of hope they would).

I've never heard of Fisher and Paykel though smiley - smiley

A NZ company doing big fridge business right around the world, by the looks of it. I'll bear them in mind if the one I've got decides it's had enough of holding my skip o'pudding.

Yeah they seem to be pretty cool. They took my old fridge away to remove the refrigerant and recycle the metal bits. And apparently all the new appliances are designed to be dismantled and recycled fully at the end of it's life - in response to the European market.

Also my new one is made in NZ which makes me happy (we've lost so much other industry overseas).

All those things aren't the norm in good ole clean, green New Zealand, so it's nice to support a company that's making the effort.

Yes, the law about disposal of fridges got really very tight here some years ago. Quite rightly. Costs quite a bit.

Which has meant that your chances of bumping into one dumped in a hedge somewhere have been somewhat increased smiley - erm

I'm just watching someone on the telly singing in Gaelic (that's Scots 'gallic' rather than Irish 'gailic'). Very odd - sounds almost Native American.

I'm in a bit of a bad mood at the moment. And, worse, I can't find any decent threads to take it out on smiley - winkeye

Yes, kiwifruit. Ah well, now I know what it's like to have someone change my writing (I never did find out what was changed with the Kakapo one).

Is your relative absence from hootoo a sign of life being good to you?

Just a sign of life being demanding with me, I think. Lots of work-related things filling my hours at the moment.

And I just did another post smiley - smiley Not a sensible one this time either.

Look! No smileys at all! smiley - smiley

Damn.

That gave me a fright. Your PS says your last post was on June 15 smiley - yikes I thought that's a bit bloody serious, over a month ago. Except I see you posted just the other day in the the Trin's Hole in the Ground thread smiley - ok

It's been at least two years those things haven't been working. And you don't even have to leave off posting that long for it suddenly to decide you haven't been here for ten months smiley - rolleyes

Mind you, it almost feels like I actually haven't been here for ten months smiley - biggrin I'm very dip in and outy at the moment. Spend more time signed in on UG accounts than on my own and that's still not very much either.

Whereas I see you've been pretty much everywhere recently smiley - bigeyes Who went and woke up the 'What's Wrong with...' thread again?
