Intro to Stan
I have spent a lifetime across the breadth of the textile industry as an industrial engineer. I am now 72 and still feel there is something I can do to continue contributing to the world in general. In the last two years I have been studying cosmology and wonder if society will ever be able to understand the part it should play in this curious universe. I get the impression that the infrastructure is failing largely because things are changing so fast that parents and teachers are unable to offer firm guidance to their children and students. I am troubled that society is too self-centered in mankind's own lives and should be as concerned for the preservation of the environment more than in the accumulation of wealth and hedonism. There needs to be a better understanding of how wealth is made and probably a means of transferring it more economically. I think I can add my bit to any debate in this area.
All this sounds very po-faced and I am considered to be beyond the reach of many. My youngest daughter is concerned that my wife will ever know when I get Alzheimer's. I don't know pop music or sport but I do have an interest in motor bikes!
