Computer Karma

My computer died last week but I had prepared - everything was saved from computer heaven.

This morning, I got up, and it had died. Completely.

3 months of work gone in the blink of an eye without so much as a wave.

Spent the last 10 pounds this side of the holidays getting credit, all of which I've spent to day phoning packard bell to be told 'yup, its dead'.

Up side is if the thing is broke I wont have to hand it in till Janruary and I'll get a brand new hard drive at least 50gb bigger then what I've got.

Anyway, enough crying, I have a screening in 6 hours and an hours worth of footage to edit.

Oh, and before my tatty bye - I missed Ken Dodd on the royal variety so I'm extremely angry. What was on after it though? There was some really funky thing with ray charles and christina aguilaria or however you spell her damn name.

What a mixed day

Back to tried and tested good and bad..

Good thing - The camera and case got sorted today and its mighty fine I have to say
Bad thing - Found out it has a dodgy and easily replacable key. Ah well.

Good thing - Films were announced today, and mine wasnt picked!*
Bad thing - The three worst films possible got through. Including the one with the most dreadful plot possible.

Good thing - er... I drew a jigsaw pattern on my hand.
Bad thing - Ive ended up working on the worse film... doing the worst job. Script supervisor (yes, you havent missed a line) and Production manager (go find actors, be the donkey).

Good thing - Max said made me laugh (I called him a liar, he said he was more of a diplomat like nelson mandela. It tickled me).
Bad thing - He wont let me tell the director what I actually think of the project because it'd cause friction.

Meh sod it I'm telling her.

Its the most god awful* film ever, about a guy who'se secretly gay and facies his mate and want him to get rid of his misses. Fine, except he's closet gay, which for the age of people shes aiming to get as actors (mid 20's) is extremely odd because she's written it as if being Gay is taboo... which its not.

God I hate it. In fact I've already decided to take my name of it - might actually use my dads name to show my utter disgust. Yeh thats a good idea.
Plans.

Oh and even worse, I cant get to manchester tomorrow due to extreme poorness (I'm really sorry craig I thought I might be able to nab some money but its just not happening - ill email you or text you tonight).

* - Mine was too ambitious and too complicated for the lack of resources we had.

** - See, that proves how much I hated it. I used god and not goblin for the first time in... well he knows doesnt he.

Name changing!

Yup, thinking of getting it changed due to unending conflict.

I want to keep it family though, which restricts me to Magee (Grandad's surname) or Sparrow (i think, tis my Grandma's Maiden name).

So what do you all think?

Mark William Magee
or
Mark William Sparrow

Upside of Sparrow is that I can make all the members of my society call me Capn Sparrow and demand piratage from all my members! Mwahahaa

Then again if its Magee, I'll have MWM as my initials which looks like wiggly line. It'd also go into a great logo for future use (kinda like a Wayland-Yutani logo from Aliens)

Anyway I'm off, I have a film noir to write by sun up

Need help

Sci-fi series of the last 16 years... I so far have

Buffy ***
Angel
Firefly *
Star Trek TNG ****
Star Trek DS9 *
Star Trek Voyager
Farscape ****
Farscape: peacekeeper wars ***
Space Precient (you'd know it if you saw it)
Babylon 5 *
Dr Who ***
x-files
Alias
Andromda
Hercules
Xena
Lost
Heroes
Dune *
Children of Dune *

Anything missing? There's gotta be a few - all those with Stars have already been watched (one star per series... yes Ive watched a lot of TV).

I think I'm about half way through everything I have to watch, although I'm short a few things - Heroes, Andromeda and more Babylon5 notibly - Id like a broader spectrum though so suggestions would be good and appreciated. Bearing in mind though that I have only four weeks left, with enough room for around 12 seasons in total (probably more..)

Oh so thats what it looks like when they come out of the wood work

I had a very odd journal to post, about the recent number of women either resurfacing with interest or popping into my life. However it was a bit ranty for little pay off so I deleted it.

Instead, I'm going to write about Buffy because she's ace.

Spent the day with Max whose Uberpoor, and bought a KFC boneless bucket for the pair of us (arent I nice). Went back to his and with some reluctance on my part we watched Oh Brother where art tho?

Okay, I admit, george clooney, but still its damn good. Infact I'd rack it up next to Amelie for content quality.

We then watched some Sealab and fun was had by all because lets face it, nothing beats adult swim (google it if needs be).

Anyway i pinched Buffy off him and headed home, and with some hesitation (I was trying to clean my room) I ended up watching the first few episodes and I tell you what they stand up to the test of time.

Thats when I got a VERY good email.

Anyway I'm off to smile and put posters up.
