Hello there,
Thanks very much for for the message. I am pleased to think I held your interest to the end and then surprised you.
There is a report in my space called 'How adults can survive other adults in chat rooms' which might be of interest. Personally I never did go down too well in chat, I was there for research purposes of course! When asked what my best feature was I replied, "My ornamental pond." Some people just have no sense of humour!

...ornamental pond! That's great! I'll go read your entry on chat rooms if I get the time tonight, but if not tonight, then tomorrow night. I like your style so it should be interesting.
The 'you talkin' to me?!' bit was mostly because I was playing with a few gadgets for my ps one night and needed somehting to go in the margins. I really should change that to a more friendly statement.

I happened to like the 'you talking to me' statement, hence my feeble response to what I saw as your good humour.
What exactly does a miner do on here? I haven't any coal or diamonds but one never knows, I might need a miner in the future.

A miner is a scout for the UnderGuide. We find well writen alternative entries and promote them on the front page. There's more to it, but that's a decent overview. If you keep writing like you have been, then you'll be mined sooner or later.
I also write columns for the CAC-C, but I don't need to tell you about that. Good job getting featured twice.

Thanks, but I'm not Christian. Hope you enjoy your holiday! There will definately be a chocolate overload just as soon as all that holiday candy goes on sale bright and early Monday morning.
Hmmm, what beer would go with chocolate? Guinness?
Re:The story of Joshua

Only one thing goes with chocolate and that's more chocolate!
Just about anything can go with beer! We have a beer festival near where I live every year and I need to gear up for this one! Over 200 cask-conditioned Real Ales from Britain's independent brewers will be on sale, along with a bottled beer stall selling British and Continental brews and over 25 varititie of cider!
Believe me when I say it is pretty strong stuff but it is a great night out, if you can remember it the next day that is!

Ohhh, I'm so jealous. Over 200 brews to choose from? I'd feel like Homer Simpson in a ... beer festival. I'm limited to maybe a dozen brews worth drinking here in the 'States, and upwards of twenty in the fall when the Oktoberfest brews are imported.
Drink a few for me.

Ha, at Homer Simpson. I like that, very good indeed! It isn't until October so plenty of time for me to get the practice in.The festival lasts about three days, almost as long as your hangover.
I've submitted another couple of entries, a short story and an entry on how to keep the body beautiful - for men, no beer involved I'm afraid. No worries, there are some great beer shampoos on the market. A couple of people have suggested this might be suitable for the peer guide although I'm not quite so convinced. As I thought you would be the better judge would you mind taking a quick look at it when you get the chance. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

I almost posted on the body beautiful thread suggesting a move to Peer Review. I just wasn't sure how that would be recieved, both by you and by those that know PR better than I do. From what little I do know, it would stand a good chance of becoming part of the EG.
Thanks for your confidence in me. I usually only read creative writing, hence my becoming a miner, and tend to find the EG a tad stale. However, I'm still relatively new to this site (first logged on only last August) and haven't had time enough to build any real cynicism about the EG like some of the veterans have. I've even managed to get an entry accepted into the EG, more due to the subject than my own personal preference in writing style (even though I really can't write).

Thanks for the message. Well done for getting a piece into the edited guide. You mentioned you only read creative writing so does that mean there are miners reading other subjects? By the way, I have complete confidence in anyone who talks about chocolate or beer!

There are a few miners who are regulars in both the AWW and PR. The head editor for the UG is just about everything a reseacher could be without actually getting paid for it. He's managed to acrue every badge possible, and a few that aren't anymore. I just stick to what I like. Too lazy to really get involved with much more than that.

Hello. Yes, I imagine it would be very time consuming. There always seems to be plenty going on here and I'm discovering more as I go along.

Speaking of more to do, I've noticed yet another thinking that your body beautiful peice should try for the EG. It's real easy to do. Just go to the AWW (I think it's PR5) and click on the x next to that entry. Then you just submit it to Peer Review exactly how you did for the AWW, only selecting Peer Review in the dialogue box.

Hello,
I've moved the body beautiful to the PR and submitted my water treatment entry there also. I seem to have upset one or two hairy men and the hairy men lovers. It has started a debate about mens body hair! Oh what fun! Ha! I've tried to point out that it isn't my opinion or personal preference, just one of the popular treatments on the market which for whatever reason men are currently seeking for various parts of their bodies. Oh what fun! Personally I like men with or without hair, although its presence or non presence isn't top of my agenda! Not sure the peer review forum is my cup of tea, I like the more creative fun style of the folk and subjects you find in the AWW forum. I think I might go back to writing another short story or become really self indulgent and write about me. Maybe not, I might upset everyone with my babbling! Well I hope you can see I've taken it all in good spirit! Hope everything is good with you and that you are unearthing some creative talent.

'Personally I like men with or without hair,'
Your a woman? It was just that the flame part of your name gave me a masculine image. I always seem to get these guessing games wrong.
I'm going to pop on over to PR and see what kind of debate has been stirred up, should be fun! You should get into the EG, or there will be a 'flame' war. Hehe. hehehe. I'm punny, hehehehe.

Just read through the PR thread. There are a few good points there, that the peice has a western bias and that the hair removal is more for certain men's vanity than for health reasons.
That was one of the more supportive PR threads I've seen, not that I've read many. Those guys can get nasty when an entry is simply not suited for the EG.
Give the suggestions a thought, they are just trying to help you get in the EG. Or just say, 'screw 'em, I'm going back to the AWW'. Either way works.

Yep I'm female. Talk about giggle! Sorry but I laughed myself silly thinking about you thinking I was male. Ye gods that would take a creative mind! Yes there are some valid points and I will be making a few amendments to make it more balanced. I don't think it will need too much. Having said that, once I get it to what I believe is fair I will stick with it regardless of what others might think. It might mean removing it from the peer review myself or having it kicked out but there we go. "Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin." would I mind too much.

I do have an over active imagination! If I could only put it too good use...
Good luck with PR! You should do alright there, the entry lends itself to the EG style. The lack of severe critisism says a lot.
