Florence was wonderful. The weather was glorious and the city itself was everything I hoped it would be. The food was simple and delicious, the locals friendly and I shopped for England. I was blown away by Michalangelo's statue of David, it was the most impressive sculpture I have ever seen. I really enjoyed it and I'd certainly go back.
So how's you? How's the Ivan story coming along? I've added a bit more to my Last Chance Saloon entry. Maybe you could take a loook sometime and let me know how you think it's shaping up.
Look forward to hearing from you.
FOG
P.S. The wine was great too!!

Sounds like you had a great time in Italy. I've never really been much for wines, but I've always liked a good chianti.
The Ivan thing is coming along a few paragraphs at a time. I just can't seem to find the right words or the right thing to say. Eh, It'll come to me eventually. Untill then I'll check out your new story.
Re:The story of Joshua
Sneaky Posted Nov 9, 2004
The Ivan thing is done, finally. It only took me a month and a half to write the damn thing. I swear it's like pulling teeth right out of the middle of my brain. Is that what you go through? If it is then I can only commend you for continuing to do it. If you would let me know what you think about the way I finished the job and if I should include anything else I'd appreciate it. Please? Pretty Please?
Speaking of spitting, I read 'Last Chance Saloon' and really like the main character. The pain he's going through comes across nicely. By the way, what kind of booze is he drinking? I only ask because for some reason I pictured vodka as the poison of choice even though your prior writing leans towards whiskey (not that it has any relevance at all to the story). Is he going to have a rough encounter with that violent Arab? Is it going to have to do with the engineering job? Will there be terrorists in the story? I personally hope not, I'm fed up with hearing about terrorists after an election cycle.

It's worse than pulling teeth! But you got there eventually and take it from me it was well worth the effort. I love your style and I really enjoyed your story. The ending brings it all together nicely and makes it a very good read. Well done matey!
Oh er, I don't think from your comments you are going to like the contents of my story, but that's okay, and it's something that I want to write about, so I'll battle on regardless. My usual style has been writing around one main character. This time I'm trying to create two main characters and then draw the whole thing together. Will I survive the test? More importantly, will you survive my story? ha!

Yep, Frank is a vodka man!
Re:The story of Joshua
Sneaky Posted Nov 9, 2004
If there's nothing else I should add or subtract from the story, I'll go ahead and submit it to the AWW. See what others think about it. Thanks for your support on this, I never would have finished it otherwise.
Terrorists! No! Eh, I suppose you'll find a way to make it interesting. (mumble, mumble, damn terrorists, mumble) I'll stay tuned for more of the story, I'm already interested to see if Frank lives through the end of it.
Somehow I saw the bottle of vodka as Frank poured his measure. Alcoholic intuition of sorts.

It was an absolute pleasure. It's good to see you writing, I always knew you had it in you.
I'll do my best to give the story something. Will he or won't he? That is a good question!

Hi! What a coincidence. I just e-mailed you, signed in and you are here!
Good to see you. Maybe you will let me know how your Ivan entry is doing.

I forgot to log out when I was online earlier. I guess I'll have to check my email in a minute.
I've submitted Ivan to the AWW, but no one seems to have noticed it yet. I'm sure they will soon enough, my last entry there got at least a few comments although it was written in haste very late one night.

Hi, how's it going? Has your story been noticed yet? The site doesn't seem to have the same buzz it had when I first joined. Hope that's just a temporary thing.
It's getting much colder here, and now December has arrived I'm starting to think about Xmas. I bought some Xmas cards yesterday but haven't started any shopping or trimming up. We seem to be heading down the American road with more and more people trimming up outside their houses, although I have no intentions of joining them. Xmas in many European countries is much nicer, it's simple and less commercial.

Hi! I'm not online like I used to be so I haven't really noticed the activity here. There have been a few posts to my story, but nothing much. I guess that since it's a personal account it won't get the kind of critisism that others would. Probably something about feelings, not that I know much about them.
Bah! Humbug! Not really much of a christmas kind of guy. The rampant comercialism here in the 'States is pretty sickening. It's like if you can't measure up to the expectations of all those advertisements then your life doesn't have any meaning. Rediculous. Not to mention that the holiday is a perversion of two seperate religions, and that fat man commiting all those felonies in one night...Ahhhh! No wonder so many people commit suicide this time of year.
Speaking of lights, there is this one church/school that I drive by on the way to work that will cause wrecks before the season is over. Probably about two to two and a half acres of buildings, trees and fence just strung to death with lights. Quite a sight really. Right on a busy road too.
Good luck.

Hi! I have noticed your absence. I hope you are not trying to do an Elvis! I've done a little bit of Xmas shopping but still have to battle the crowds again this week. Not an experience I'm really looking forward to.
I've recently completed and posted an entry about our Dreams. I found it all quite fascinating so it was quite an enjoyable subject to write about. Not sure what I will attempt next. Xmas preparations are keeping me fairly busy.....

BTW, another researcher thought I was a male. I think I'll have to add a little bit into my introduction, I just need to think of something to say. Doh! Oh well
Re:The story of Joshua
Sneaky Posted Dec 13, 2004
It's your user name that does it. Fire, gold. These are things that facinate those of the male persuasion. That and we're too lazy to follow a link to read about a person before making a judgement like what gender they are. I know I didn't.
I've not really been absent, I've just not been as active as I once was. Working all the time, I just don't have the time anymore to devote to hootoo. And no chance of going Elvis anymore. There seem to be a few people that would notice.
I've read your entry on sleep. It was pretty good, it's another that would be good in the EG if you have the fortitude to face that crowd again. After the way it went last time I couldn't blame you for leaving it in the AWW. I'll just end up doing a CACC with it. Of course it really should be in the EG (if the subject isn't already covered that is).
Unfortunately I've been sucked into the whole gift giving xmas thing. I've now got to find something for everybody in my family and get it in the mail in time for it to arrive in Arkansas by the 25th. How do normal people do this every year?
Re:The story of Joshua
U645857 Posted Dec 13, 2004
Hey! Are you accusing me of being normal? I wonder how many unwanted Xmas gifts end up on E-Bay these days? I mean it's easy to buy a present, just harder to buy one that you think somebody actually wants!
JWF also suggested I put my entry in the PR forum, but memories of the last time flashed through my mind. I can't tell you how glad I was that you were around, my knight in shining armour so to speak! For a new researcher that was not a very pleasant experience, although I'd be a bit more prepared for the flack this time round.
I still haven't thought of anything worthwhile to put on my introduction page. I always thought Flameofgold sounded quite feminine. Guess that proves beyond doubt I'm a real blonde!

You could always slightly change your username to easily indicate that you are in fact a woman. Give youself a title like Ms. or Lady or just put the fact in parenthases after.
Lady Flameofgold does have a ring to it. Ohh ohh ohh! You could be the Baroness Flameofgold! (I'm getting a bit silly here, I know. Lack of caffiene)
If you do decide to go into PR again, do a little research to find a few links to bolster your facts first. That seemed to be the biggest nitpik those drones had of your 'Body Beautiful' peice. I would like to see you get into the EG again, but the decision isn't up to me (I'm not the one that will have to deal with the PR drones).
Re:The story of Joshua
U645857 Posted Dec 15, 2004
Lady Flame Baroness Flame You do make me laugh. I've added my real name to indicate I'm a female, unless of course there are guys walking around called Pauline.......
Still not sure about the PR forum - but there is no rush is there? Pondering on what to write next.....
How about you? Are you writing anything new up or is mining keeping you busy?
Re:The story of Joshua
Sneaky Posted Dec 20, 2004
No rush for anything PR related. I can understand any reluctance to go there again.
No, not writing anything at the moment. I just don't really have anything to say. Really, really don't have anything to say at all. I'm not even writing music right now. It must be adjusting to work or the cold weather or somethin'.
How about you? Got any good ideas in the works yet?
Re:The story of Joshua
U645857 Posted Dec 20, 2004
Well I'm not sure if it's a good idea but I've just finished my Xmas story A3425393 - I expect it will be the last entry for this year.
Did you manage to complete your Xmas shopping and get it all sent off home?
So why do you think you are not writing?

Re:The story of Joshua
Sneaky Posted Dec 20, 2004
Nope, not done figuring out what to get for my family (a rather hard bunch to shop for), and nothing sent off yet. I pretty much have to ship tomorrow if I would have any chance at all of it arriving by Friday. I'll also have to ship priority mail for that slim chance. It only takes about eight hours to drive there, but three to four days for the mail during normal times. With the increased traffic that the postal service gets this time of year I'd expect five to seven days. They'll understand, and probably think it funny that my gifts arrive late.
Probably the biggest reason I'm not writing anything right now is I'm doing too much research into that card game I play. I read on average of eight to ten articles a day on stratagy and deck building advise in an attempt to ellivate my playing to pro quality. I think I'm starting to get it, but won't know for sure until I've secured a few more cards and play in a local tourney.
Of course it could simply be that it's really friggin cold here. I hate being cold. After four years in sunny south Florida my blood is too thin to deal well with the cold of a north Florida winter. It's below freezing almost every night and barely climbs above during the day. I'm used to spring style weather until the two weeks of winter that appear in late January, early Febuary.
Anyway, I'll check out your latest peice as soon as I can. Right now I have to get off to work.

Merry Christmas to you too.
I'll be enjoying the holiday by playing extremely violent video games online, just what every well adjusted gen-x'er should be doing. Hope you have as much fun as I will.
