Has anyone noticed yet? I know it sounds trite but you should probably tell someone you trust, of course that requires having someone you trust which is where it falls down. As I found with my friend Jessi, who sounds a bit like you.
Um, there's a site called http://crystal.palace.net/~llama/psych/injury.html that gives some useful stuff about things you can do that give similar effects to SI but aren't so harmful.
How are you?
There may be people around you who care and can do things to help. Get their support if they're there: you shouldn't have to be alone.

My best friend knows. She found out. So, I then had to tell my other friend as I didn't want her to find out like that. My other friend was relaxed about it, not pleased, concerned, but not overly panicking. Sadly my best friend got upset. Ugh.
I'm not too bad. At the moment I'm feeling pretty normal. My parents suggested I have someone sleep over, this was said in desperation I think, as they usually forbid sleepovers in term time. So, that should be 'fun'.
Interesting site. I'm having a look around. I did find a good one linked from someone's space on g2... it's very understanding. If only I could find it again.
Thankyou

I guess everyone reacts in different ways, huh? But I can see how school wouldn't exactly help. "Little Miss Cynical", pah. How pathetic. Luckily at my school they're not that cliquey, probably I'd be called Little Miss Nonexistent. Or Little Miss Lesbian, although that's died down now.
Try not to let it get to you... though it's hard.
Do your parents know about it, or are they just generally worried? Mine found out last year but they were pretty relaxed after. That was how I got acupuncture. Have you considered/tried that? I know it's not for everyone but I found it AMAZINGLY helpful, plus you can have a chat and it's sort of like exorcising the bad stuff.
Or at least that's what I found.
Good luck! Hope the not-so-bad feeling lasts, I know it's hard to appreciate happiness that isn't ecstatic, I always think "oh it could be better". but try.

My parents only know that I've been suffering from depression. The school told them. They dismissed it. My Dad said it was because they wouldn't let me go to Glastonbury. Ahem. I didn't appreciate the attempts to make my feelings seem insignificant.
I've considered acupuncture but if I'm going to go down the road of getting help, it would be by seeing a psychiatrist. Which very nearly happened.
School gets worse by the day. Everyone's depressed. Sigh.

Hmm, that must kind of suck. I've had a similar experience, my parents thought I was upset because they didn't let me go shopping in Exeter. As if something that small would affect someone that badly!!
You should see someone. That is, if you want to. You said your school arranged a rubbish counsellor, yeah? But not every counsellor is bad. I'd advise you not to go on antidepressants, I went on a mental health awareness one day course thing last week and they told me all about the unpleasant side effects ... not good.
Why is everyone depressed at school? Is it work, or what? I found GCSEs horrible, so much pressure.

(Little Miss Ornery) (today anyway. I snapped at everyone, kind of out of character. For no real reason. Hmm)

Ah everyone's depressed for different reasons. Boyfriends, School work, Self image.. the list goes on. I'll tell you how bad it's got, I spent my lunch time in the toilets listening to my best friend cry in the cubicle next to me over the hand dryer while I thought about cutting myself with a pair of scissors and my other best friend sat on the floor under the dryer and my best friend was stood outside looking like death warmed up.
Don't worry. I would never take drugs. I ended up seeing my doctor a while back, and I insisted on not resorting to medication. I know what it does to people. I am well informed.

Erk. Deja vu vibes... year 11 sucks for lots of people then, not just me. Year 12 will hopefully be better.
Um, you shouldn't use scissors. If you really must do something (and it's preferable you don't) use clean implements?
How are you today?

Common sense stopped me from doing anything.
I can't be too bad. My ears are still buzzing from Thursday and I'm generally pretty good.

Howdy,
No worries, I've been too busy to do any long posts too.
A cult? Crikey. What's it's philosophy?

cinnamon_spider Posted Jan 21, 2004
hmmm, a motto...
*thinks of mottoes*
Um...
-red and black is cool
-celebrate individuality
-heavy metal nicknames are fun, as are candyfloss ones. For example my nicknames are Hound of Doom and Cupcake.
the site name is http://mysite.freeserve.com/black_stripes_clique. Have a look...

red and black are cool... Wow... how profound!
Nice site! All the rules are mind boggling.
Mine's utterly crap in comparison. Actually. Considering it took me 10 minutes... it's pretty good...
Uhm
cinnamon_spider Posted Jan 22, 2004
Thankyou!
yes indeed... profound... well I'll try and think up a better one some other time perhaps. Or maybe not. I like the motto "red and black are cool", it kind of sums up our philosophy.
Or something.
It's kind of an ongoing thing, we're trying to get more people to join but most of our friends say it's too strange.

Strange? Methinks not...
Oh guess what! I have news about this prom our school is having...
Guess where it's taking place.... oh this is so good... I'll give you a clue... "Arrrr.... yarr!"
Uhm
cinnamon_spider Posted Jan 25, 2004
You can join if you want, all you need is a heavy metal name (eg Poison Axe) (that's Ellie) and a candyfloss name (eg Cupcake) (that's me), you don't have to do anything I'll just add you to the list.
Ummmm... Devon? As in "ooh arr?" But that'd be a bit far away, wouldn't it? Wherewherewhere???

Nooo noooo nooo!
*realises how awful her captain impression is*
They're holding the prom on a boat!
On the thames.... *is in hysterics*
Aaah dear, how awful and tacky
Uhm

A boat!
But won't the slinky dresses be somewhat spoiled by liferings??
Strange idea... Ah nostalgia, I'm fond of London.

Ah tis a splendid idea!
Shame I won't be attending.
I could go three ways here...
1. Don't go to the prom, but stay at home with two of my friends watching soppy pathetic movies (their choice) while eating Ben and Jerries ice cream (my choice)
2. Go to the prom and have a miserable time without a date, surrounded by idiots, in a stupid baby blue dress that doesn't fit properly and has to have long sleeves to cover up y'know what's
3. Go to the prom but as uber goth chick, befriend bikers, bring them along, and generally ruin everyone's time...
Uhm
cinnamon_spider Posted Feb 25, 2004
Option 3, option 3! Goth is cool! The bikers will ruin things nicely and you will have fun. Of course you could do option 1, but sneakily change the movies to something you'd like more. Option 2 is... to put it nicely... not good. Don't do that one. But yeah, option 3 is the best. Then, you'll create a stir as well and it'll be something interesting as opposed to traditional prom events... whatever they are.

I thought of another one. I could go on a protest march around the venue, it would be an attack on americanization and the whole idea of having 'proms' and 'year books'
