Well I have been banging th Drum for Franz Ferdinand for a while now... not sure if anybody has listened to my reccomendation though.
I think I had better sleep on it and think up something funny and incisive... or mayby just something inane that has just happened to me as per usual.

Bloomin computers...

.... Sigh!
Once again I am having PC problems; don't know what is wrong this time but the darned thing just wont boot up even in safe mode. Bloody Microcr*p!
Took it down to the repair shop (another £20 I can ill afford on my meagre student budget) and they reckon it might be a software problem that will neccesitate re-formatting my hard drive ... all those times I lectured people about backing stuff up and I didn't do it myself like a fool.
Luckily all my important Uni work is backed up on disk... as for the rest... pah! probably gone forever.

Greenbank 2004 pt 2
Posted Feb 23, 2004
Well well well... it seems that 2004 is becoming a much better year for the mighty greenbank.
After our great performance last week we had to go away to the team third in the league (we are second from bottom). After a stirring team talk from yours truly I sent the lads out onto the pitch saying along the lines of "They have seen our league position and probably think it is going to be an easy game... lets proove them wrong" (albiet with a few more expletives; heck it is sunday league).
We won the toss and elected to play with the wind in the first half; a decision that payed off. The team played fantastically well and ended up going in at half time 1-0 up thanks to a fantastic goal from captain for the day Adam.
In the second half I said to the lads "Dont worry about the wind just play football"; and we did. We had all the pressure in the first 20 mins and it culminated in us winning a penalty. This unfortunately was a turning point. We missed and this got the Mortgage shop going a bit and for about 10 mins put us under pressure and got an equaliser. Damn damn damn.
However our new found team spirit came to the fore and we mnaged to not only hold out for the last 15 but also put them under a bit of pressure too carving out a few good opportunities. So 1-1 and the team who are third in the league are probably happy to have got a point in the end. It says a lot that going away to a team like that and being dissapointed with a draw means we are coming along well.
GO GREENBANK!

Greenbank 2004
Posted Feb 17, 2004
Well Sunday was our first match of 2004. 2003 having been something of an annus horriblus for Greenbank we were keen to start the year well. Our opponants were the Mermaid inn, a team we had never played before but who were 5 places and 10 points clear of us.
The game started in typical Greenbank fashion... namely backs against the wall. I started to get worried and then after about 10 mins the unthinkable happened a botched clearance from our keeper Chris let the Mermaid in for an easy goal.
But then something different from normal happened... instead of heads going down and the team giving in everyone upped the effort level. People started talking and just before half time we equalised having been on top for the last 25 mins. Adam Lake got the goal and it was a simple tap in.
The second half started with us being more dominant, and midway through the half Adam again got on the end of a long ball and we went 2-1 up!
The mermaid came back into the game and then got an equaliser with about 1/4 of an hour to go. Shortly afterward Adam hit the post from close range. Marmaid went down the other end straight away and had a shot cleared off the line by Recardo McDowell.
So the game finished 2-2, it would have been nice to win but 2004 already looks brighter, the fighting spirit and good attacking football we had on sunday will stand us in good spirits for next week, a tough match away at the fourth placed team.
COME ON YOU GREENS!
