Wahey New TV... ACE! sort of...
Posted May 7, 2004
Well joyous moment as I went and picked up my ne TV today. Nice 28 inch Widescreen, with pure flat screen, 100hz scanning and 3 Scarts brand name panasonic for £400.00 including 5 years on site parts and labour waranty!
What a great deal me thinks and I am really excited to have a new toy! Trouble is I am damned if I can work out how to assemble the stand... spent about three hours trying. Including a good 20 mins looking for a part which later turned out to be a bad drawing supposed to represent something being pushed in!
Why are instructions for flat packed things so god damn in-comprehensible eh? I ask you.
I am a pretty clever xchap and when it comes to theory I am your man but in practice I am useless why can I not "Do Things" or have any semblance of common sense?
Oh well when I get back from work I will keep trying...

Goodbye life and sleep for the next month...
Posted May 4, 2004
Becuase I have done a very foolish thing. After months of putting it off I have finally bought "Zelda: The Wind Waker" for my gamecube. I had been putting this off because my past experience of anything touched by the genius that is Shigeru Miyamoto is a minimum of one month of my life completely lost.
First impressions (since yesterday morning) confirm my fears, I slept for about 4 hours last night; went to the sandwich shop; and I am writing this now courtesy of the inconvenience that is work. That aside I have played it constantly since. It is masterful such a game....
Tonight I dunno if I am going to have time to make my spanish stew thing I was going to cook (my folks gave my some Ciorza, corriander and fresh tomatoes last night) cause I dunno if I can spare 30 mins to cook it!

British Sea Power Gig
Posted Apr 28, 2004
Last night I attened my first gig of the year, watching British Sea Power play at the Anson Rooms in Bristol.
Got to Bristol about an hour before the gig but had to park in town and it was quite a walk to the venue; necessitating us to get a meal on the way up; luvley sarnie!
When we got there we found out that the support band were not on until 8:30 rather than the 8.00 we thought which left us sitting around in a pretty much empty venue for a while.
The support band Duke Spirit were o.k., thety rocked but the females singers attempt at a Debbie Harry impression did not quite cut it. The highlight of their performance however was the guitarist dropping his guitar on stage as he tried to bang the sybol at the end!
When British Sea Power came on they did not dissapoint; they were awosome, they played all my fave tracks off "The decline of British Sea Power" and some B sides and some apparantly new material.
The gig climaxed with on their last track there 12 bear "BooBoo" came on stage and started mucking around with the band as they played incresingly high tempo jamming it was class.
Anyone reading this I reccomend you check them out if you get a chance.

Greenbanks dinal game of the season
Posted Apr 27, 2004
Big game for us against Staddi Colts, the winner guarenteed to finish in 10th plact (fourth from bottom). Things got off to a bad start when once again no ref showed up and I had to do it yet again.
Not 10 mins into the game and Colts got the opening goal, Chris made a pretty good save but unfortunately one of their players was first to the rebound. However Keiron looked threatening all game and finally opened his account to level things.
In the second half Colts again took the lead through a disputed goal.. my players were adamant it was hand ball but I didnt see it. However Keiron was playing out of his skin and got the equaliser to make things 2-2 final score.
Baited breath for the result on frisay between the uni and staddi. If the uni win then we finish above staddi.

Greenbank... again
Posted Apr 24, 2004
Last night Friday we had an evening match against Woodford Wanderers. Possible on current form the worst team in the league, and basically I brought us down to their level. It was much the worst we have played this calender yar and we were lucky to get a 1-0 win courtesy of a Richard Channing goal.
