Fab!! If it's made by them then it's much healthier than the sarnies anyway.
I just managed to prove that a triangle was a right-angled one when I was supposed to be proving that it is't
*Prove that the triangle with vertices P(2,1), Q(5, -1) and R(9,5) is not right-angled.
So I did:
PQ = ROOT (3^2+2^2)
= ROOT 13
QR= ROOT (4^2 + 6^2)
= ROOT 52
PR= ROOT (7^2 + 4^2)
= ROOT 65
If PQR is a right-angled triangle, PQ^2 + QR^2 = PR^2
Unfortunately...13+52=65

Did you try drawing the triangle out, preferably on some graph paper? It really helps.
For a hint, there's a small mistake in your PQ equation, and that's the only problem.

It looks like you're right, I just made a mistake in copying it down on my paper. Hmmmm.... Maybe the problem is just wrong? Happens sometimes, you know.

Let's go with that one...I just looked the answer up again to double check and...well....
APPARENTLY
Sides have length ROOT 409, ROOT 272 and ROOT 65; triangle is not right-angled.
Now how on earth you could get such massive numbers from the originals...I dont know. Let's burn the book and dance round it! Oh wait! Can't burn a book!
Oh I sent your parcel today Mikey
Right...nearly 1am perhaps time for bed? Oh but then it'll be tomorrow...but I'm in my comfy clothes so maybe it's okay. Sheesh! I've been wearing these clothes for...nearly a fortnight day and night...I think, I think...I think
I think I'll talk to the psych tomorrow. Although part of me is feeling smug because I'm not cutting or crying or anything like N is and...yeah okay not right to compare myself and yeah...I'll just go away now I think.

Sorry to barge in, Kat, I just wanted to send you a virtual and hope that things get better soon! By the way, I see you're from Brum, I'm from Solihull! What school are you in that's getting you down so much? I probably won't have heard of it, but I might have!

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Nov 2, 2005
Oh you will have heard of the school Elementi! It's...the one that's said to be the very heart of England...
It's not the school that's a problem though, I mean it's a reasonable place and I don't have any complaints about it. I'm just not really made for coping with this sort of thing.

!!!
Yes you are! But in nice little steps! One week (or minute...) at the time - don't worry about the future, it'll come anyway!
(Says she who is hollering at management to prepare for the doom well in advance... so if we are prepared doom will be thwarted and not happen at all...)
That made no sense at all did it? I tell them that we have to upgrade at one time, and if we do it before IS Security pulls the system off the network, then we won't need to have the system off line at all, and don't have to upgrade in a panic... (slightly more sensible, but it turned into a rant, didn't it...) And guess who will have to upgrade in panic?
Anyway, stay cool, you will manage.

Oh Kat . What everyone else said.
But I'd stop with the port. Even if it is classy. Alcohol is a depressant. Yes it is. And do you need an added depressant in your system right now? Is there another marvellous treat you could have instead? Chocolate, coffee, someone nice to meet you after school and make sure you get some food and drink before you collapse (it'll help you NOT collapse)?
You are being very brave and we are all very proud of you. Depression sucks big green poisonous bunnies and doing anything at all in the face of it earns you a little gold star every day.

Agapanthus has a point. Not to mention that all the mone you must be spending on port has got to be depressing too.

Yeah that's what's getting to me the most at the moment actually. Also obviously all the drink contributes to me feeling tired once it's worn off.
Also, obviously, Threshers will notice that I keep using staff discount on large bottles every week.
I'm trying to think of something that will work better...although currently I'm coming up with cutting or taking codeine each day. Cutting would be the least long-term harmful I guess, and I'm already wearing long sleeves...it's just that it isn't very effective anymore Then again nor is the alcohol...
It really hacks me off that I feel a need for all these things just to be able to do something so simple as go out each day for a few hours! I mean, on the surface of it it should be SO easy!
The worst for other people, I think, is that there's not an awful lot anyone can do right now...the GF, my friends, and the psych are all just hanging around and watching and waiting to be there just in case I completely lose it, and wait for me to get a grip. It makes me sad that I'm hurting other people but really can't work out how to pull myself together a bit more.
Moan moan moan moan moan! Gawd I hate myself sometimes!

It's starting to sound like an extremely vicious cycle - you've lost faith in yourself. I'm not saying you need to muster the energy to pick yourself up again - I think you need to muster the self-belief to pick yourself up again.

whoops
It was just my base reaction. Really I just sort of sighed a bit and wondered where you can buy self-belief is "just-add-water" packets

Shhh dear, don't punish yourself...
*Holds Kat in arms, baby like*
Have black coffee, and really dark chocolate. Let each piece melt slowly , and sip coffee between. That could help, I think, choc is said to be slightly antidepressant...
We worry for you, yes, but it doesn't damage like you seem to think?
You don't have *that much power, do you...
Care for yourself this time!
