Well, I do think you're a very good writer. Your biographies are excellent, and you've worked very hard to become a kind of specialist in them. My favourite, though, is Rangoli. I really learnt something from that, and it made me want to find out more about it. It's always nice to read about something I've never even heard of before.

the hacker was the same one, he wanted to do something the moderator, who had the sites had ruled not allowed, and the hacker decided to take offence because the mod took the pics off, and hacked the sites with a virus.

Skankyrich you've made me want to write more entries like the rangoli one now. It's easy to fall into a rut and do one type of entry, but it's good to challenge oneself at times too.

I'm pleased the firewall can be repaired. for the I think I'm going to need it.

I think it best to have a mixture, but I don't like failing.

I wouldn't say you're in a rut, because you do write biographies very well. Just don't forget that you write about other subjects very well, too!

Hi Jim,

The reason the posting was removed was that it linked to a site which shows copyrighted content illegally. Although the site has a disclaimer saying that it is not responsible for the content that users link post, it isn't the kind of site we can link to, even from conversation postings. I hope you won't hold it against me if I tell you that I was the one who reported it to the Moderators, who made the decision to remove the URL of the site you linked to.

h2g2 is quite lucky in that, for the most part, we can post anything we like as long as it is civil. Look at some of the other message boards - 606, for example - and you'll see that they suffer much more heavy-handed moderation. 606, in fact, has 'opening hours' and is very heavily moderated. We're allowed such a free reign because we are good at policing ourselves.
