Websailor and Bob for letting me in on the fact I'm not alone. I find it interesting that you see a funny side of things to this Bob.

when i started the prosses for my edited guide, i thought after a month, that it was never going on , it took about 8 or 9 weeks to make the main list, then still had a long wait, it got there and is on the edited, a few times i nearly said, forget it, patience is a vertue, or is it lol jim

Some entries take absolutely ages to get through the system. Perhaps the Hampster doesn't always work as hard or something, but Hootoo works in mysterious ways. Sometimes entries I thought would have a relatively clear road through PR take a long time, and others which I thought might have a rockier ride sail through. Being phlegmatic is the key in all things, I find.

when you do the edited, its the ones that do the reveiw, they dont seem to be happy with what you have lol.
-
so it will be a week or more to just get it to the way it as to be, then the links to be found and added. to parts, then, the next and so on. once on the list to be checked by the eds, depending how many are on, will be when will it appear on the front page, and will the pic be used as the main one. lol jim

Ah but what do you do in the meantime. If you feel there is nothing more you can do. Should you submit another or not?
Skanky I should have said I'm setting up home with my bf

hi opi
-
if you are setting up home with bf, then why do you have to give anything to the family, thats the point of leaving the nest, you fend for youself, or in your case your bf and you,
-
once you get the bills, you wont have anything to give anyone jim xx

That's what confuses me yet I'm between homes and jobs. Talking about jobs I had to turn one down today due to circumstances. See we are back where we started with 'so close and yet so far'. Mind you on the alternative side I have been given a couple of lovely badges.

if your at home, then a token rent of some kind is whats needed to pay
-
but if you are moving on your own or with someone, you will, not be obliged to pay anything, you will have enough trying to me the the rent and things if your on your own.(or the bf)
-
in the days i was discribing, things where a lot harder in more ways, and tipping to my mother was the only way to have a roof over my head, i didnt want, or like tipping, if hol pay or tax back, i had to take her word that the extra was what i get.
-
as mother was always borrowing money from companies, then paying more back, she would never give an inch.
-
the night i left home, when i got the nerve to. i drew, from work, £70, and £100 hols pay, mother said the take home was £30, i didnt say anything, or i would have blew my top, i wanted to get away,
-
as i was about to leave she asked for the rent, i nearly let loose, but just picked the case up, told her, not in a h@lls chance, and walked away, never to reurn till 1979 or there abouts, for her funeral, which i didnt get to in the end, long story.
-
moral to it, you may have been looked after by the family, but its what you think you owe them , jim xx

That's a sad tale Jim. I hope your life improved after that. I got married to get away, though I didn't really realise it at the time. I think that only dawned on me in later years!

hi websailor
-
thats the way it was back then,
-
mother would borow £100 at least, and have to pay £125 back, the more she got, the had to be payed back,
-
she had my money, my sisters, and mary my nieces to.my sister was about 25 then, and she tipped up.
-
getting a place of your own, wasnt like now, the cheapest was a grotto, damp, dingey and so on.
-
if anyone left home before they where, say 20, you would be living hand to mouth, hoping th room haddent been broke into, that you couuld pay the rent on the friday. what fun jim xxx
-
opi, work out what you what to do, and the limits you are going to, or you will soon have problems you didnt even know you could have lol, why nowadays do you think kids wont leave the nest.lol

Jim,
My other half did numerous jobs on leaving school but the main choices for him in Yorkshire at the time were the mines or the Army. Where I lived you only got a place of your own if you got married.

i never got through training, as mother took i,ll, she had a suspected heart attack, but i still think it was the fact, my eldest sister, the main breadwinner eloped, and got married.

so i was brought out of the army, after about 6 weeks of training, for the infantery, as a second gunner on the gpmg machine gun,on an apc carrier.
-
i was a week from going to cypres
-
and in les than a week i had a job, back in the good old textiles, there was nothing elese, i was a bobbinligger, and dirty, noisey smelly job, and very low payed lol jim

Jim,
You clearly weren't in long enough to learn it off by heart My other half can still recite his number. He can recite his NI number and the old family Co-Op number too - sad or what?
