h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

You may feel alone, love, but you are not the only one. I've cried more over h2g2 in the past however-many-months than I have over anything for bloody years.

Sending a hug from me too Bel, I hope that whatever has upset you gets sorted out. We cannot lose you! That would be awful.

I know what you mean, though, Bel - I'm finding h2g2 less and less a priority these days, whether it be visiting the site or doing anything for it, simply because I wonder what's the point if I'm just doing it for the trolls...

h2g2 is not about the trolls, it is about the readers.

If that were the case, the trolls would be kicked out, because that wouldn't prevent them from reading.

We have to give the trolls a chance to mend their ways.

Most of the usual suspects seem to get infinite chances.

I don't want this journal to turn into a gripe about the moderators, because that's not what Bel was talking about.

Neither do I. I just wanted to say that I'm no longer as enthusiastic about the site as I used to be, and it's because of trolls. That is all.

No, it isn't. And it isn't about trolls, either. I can avoid them even if it limits the areas on h2g2 I visit).

I've not been about much so I'm not aware of any problems with trolls.

As a reader and contributor, I just want to say I hope you can get the nonsense sorted out somehow. This site has too much potential to let it go to waste. I don't understand how people could be working against each other and in the process ruining this site for others ... anyways personally I'm still enjoying being here.

That's exactly how it should be, Willem.

Elentari, it's good if you aren't aware of any problems, it means the site is unspoilt for some, at least.

Not that I want to denigrate the importance of the community side of the site, but I feel that we would all get a lot better if we all wrote (or in other ways contributed) more, and talked less.

Y'know, like, putting more effort into building the Guide, and less into winding each other up.

That's not pointed at anyone in this thread, whom I'm sure are all wonderful people, but you know what I'm saying.

I would persoanally like to say, in reference to nobody in particular, that if anyone anywhere on the site is being an arse at anyone else, please notify me and I will happily visit the thread and tell them to shut up. In the words, if I may, of otter in Wind in the Willows
