My son hadn't heard anything by Friday. He said he'd call them today, but I haven't heard anything from him yet. As I'm not at home at present, I'm only online for brief visits now and then.
Z, it would be working in care homes. Even as an assistant you have to do school and all here, if only for one year instead of three years.
So, there's still a little hope it'll work out (because maybe they sent it by snail mail).

""And there's me sitting here thinking that Germany was a red tape free zone""
at least the trains run on time and the post is delivered in the morning

Yay. My son was accepted at that school.
There are lots of things left to do, which means I'll be very busy next week - especially since my niece couldn't stay with the friends she's stayed with so far any more and will now say with us until she's found some lodgings. But thanks to all your crossed fingers, at least there is some positive news. He got the mail yesterday, and only told me today.

Yahayyy!!!!
I'm really pleased. I think the quality of care homes here would be better if all the staff were trained.

It is such a relief that they accepted him. I'm really happy, although he isn't - yet. I'll do everything I can to make it as easy for him as possible.

So do I, Mala. I think the school should be interesting. We'll have to see to it that he gets the work practice now he applied for the other week. They wouldn't accept him without the school. And now the school took so long to send the contract.

Fui on him, Bel. He'll regret having a nonexistant relationship with his boys when he is older.
