Do you still drink coffee?

Yes, another one for the list of substances to be avoided for the moment.

Fortunately, my new co-worker is also a tea drinker.

We can make either tea or coffee at work, but nobody drinks tea. smiley - biggrin

We have a coffee brewing unit, and the company provides tea bags in assorted flavors. I drink neither- the tea is always stale by the time it gets here, and the coffee is Starbucks, which I don't particularly like. I bring coffee in a travel mug from home, and keep my own tea bags in my desk. smiley - biggrin

At the moment, I'm drinking mostly malt (ersatz) coffee. smiley - laugh

Though if I buy milk tomorrow, I'll make ginger tea, I have some fresh ginger. smiley - drool

I just usually carry my water bottle around at w*rk/Uni. Though the coffee might not be so bad at present, the boss is on crutches and can't make it himself. smiley - whistle

I've got a water bottle at my desk, too. We get bottled water in those jugs that mount on a cooler, and I try to drink enough to fill my 600ml bottle four times a day.

I never manage to drink water - only if I've eaten something very salty which makes me thursty, which happens rarely as I don't put much salt in the food.

Post 67 - I'm not in favour of the annual anagramfest, I'm afraid. I'm sorry to say that constant thirst could be an indication of diabetes. If you haven't already, you should check with your doctor without delay.

I'm not medically qualified but this lot are:

Hope it turns out OK for you.

no problem, jabberwock. well, not that problem anyway. mala has been tested for diabetes already. it's not what it is, and we're still waiting for the correct diagnosis

Thanks for the hint, Jabberwock. But since diabetes (mellitus) runs in the family, that was the first thing we checked.

Here's a drift retriever for you: I had a friend who tested positive for diabetes, but he didn't have it. He was drinking sixteen cups of coffee everyday, and the caffine was messing with his system, smiley - bigeyes

As for the five liters of water, I drink between three and five quarts of water or herb tea on a normal day. No diabetes, just a propensity for drying out. I get sinus infections and sore throats if I don't keep hydrated, especially when the heat runs. Do you live in a dry climate? Get exposed to lots of pollution? Eat too much salt/sugar? (Read those labels on the pre-prepared foods. You'll be astonished.) You may just need the water if all else seems OK.
Water is good for you. My voice coach always said "pee pale".

smiley - laugh Dry climate? I live in the rainiest city in Germany! And I cook from scratch, generally. smiley - zen

It's definitely a symptom of something else, but they're still figuring that out. So back to the topic smiley - laugh

drinking lots of water is okay, but make sure you don't wash out all the minerals your body requires. take a vitamin pill with minerals. i'm told mineral deficit is as bad for you as too much salt is for people with high blood pressure

not that i'm a smiley - doctor or anything like it, but it makes sense to me

during the first gulf war we were advised to put a teaspoons worth of andrews liver salts into a 2L bottle of water, so that we kept up our mineral levels
