I'm more worried now after reading that potato post. She gave me potatoes for dinner last night, so I' wondering if there's a subtle warning in that post...

Bel, of course I know how much potatoes weigh - I never have a car to do my shopping.....
but since you don't have to feed him anything else, that saves the weight of meat and the lot....
Why don't you let him do the shopping? Or get your boys to help you? At least they do eat as well, don't they?
(I leave the heavy things in the cellar for the boys to bring them upstairs....)

Son #1 doesn't live here anymore, son #2 is on a schooltrip and will only return tonight. I will make him help once he's back, though.
The husband cycles to and from work, which is a good 22km each day.
I won't ask him to either carry his bag AND the shopping for that distance, or come home after a 10 to 12 hour day at work and ask him to go and do the shopping.

Well I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles Bel, but you're a scud - my car has packed in now .... some spring or the other in or around the clutch - and it can't be fixed until Tuesday.
with the travel plans.

Well poor Fizz is very arthritic and little Elphie's too close to the ground to be good for carrying anything .....

Give her a doggypack or whatever they're called. Mina knows, she has them for her dogs.
