>>Buy a set of towels the same colour as the dyes you intend to use<<
I'm with DQ here, I've never seen a towel in the colour of my hair dye.
Maybe I'll just have to try to get grey in dignity.

What's so upsetting having grey hair?
Mum used various stuff in her hair from her forties to make it look more grey.
But hair can be more important than one might think.
When my youngest som was 1½ yo I cut my waist long hair to shoulder long. He didn't recognise me until I started to talk to him.
A few years ago I had to shave (almost) all my hair (almost waist long) due to neuro surgery. I just had a tiny little braid in the back left afterwads. I was agonising more over losing my hair, than over the fact that someone should dig inside my brain.
It took around half a year before that last braid was cut off and my hair was cut short. Since then I've been changing my hair colour quite often. I'm not patient enough to let my hair grow out again, so I play with colours instead of braids nowadays.

I've never minded to cut my hair very short - as long as it was MY decision. I guess if I had to, due to a surgery or saomething, I'd really grieve the loss of my hair - weird or what?

'Mesologist' uses a dye you have to put in dry hair
Only some spots on the old t-shirt (hey, that was mine) "
