Sorry I've been so slack with replying, but I don't know where my time goes.

It's not as if I was doing a great many things, but the days pass very quickly.

I'm glad to hear you're well and the toad hunt was a success.

It's mostly cold and wet here, with a few nice days thrown in for good measure - but those fast weather changes do my head in, and I've been dizzy for the last two days.

It seems to get better again, though.

And now I must rush off again, to do some work.

I'm back, with a very contrite and embarrassed look on my face, and feeling very annoyed with myself that I could let three whole months pass without replying to you. However it is wonderful to be back. Now to get everything back on track. Just need to get my 'Big Mac' set up, instead of using my 'Happy Meal, as my friend call it.

I hope you are well and are surviving all the as I see that Frankfurt airport is snowed in. Knowing you are at the top of a hill, I hope all is well with you.

It is snowy and slippery here. I was out with friends yesterday but didn't risk the taking a taxi instead. Cost me £50 return, but it was a safer option as it meant I only had 100m of snow to walk on. Still did the damage though. Not good to walk on uneven snow without stout boots. I have bought solid boot chains and walking canes though, and shall try again tomorrow! I really do not fancy . I have really had enough of the big house.

And thank you so much for my gift. So thoughtful. I haven't been out shopping, and can't find my cards anywhere, not that I've been out anywhere so I couldn't post them anyway.

I am hoping that 2011 will prove to be a wonderful and special year for you. That your editing goes from strength to strength and that everything works out well for you.

And I am hoping we get to meet up next year, at some point, whether in Germany (is Berlin still on?) or London.

Was actually looking for something else.

A get-together would be great.

Life is good, if a little strained with Mum's health. She is not too bad, as far as the dementia is concerned, but the smoking has caused emphysema, which is getting worse, and she was meant to have a biopsy today on a 'shadow' on her left lung, a 14mm shadow that has been diagnosed as Cancer, but do not know what type. The biopsy was cancelled due to errors on the hospital's pat, so taking place tomorrow. A neighbour is hoping to visit, to give me a break, and may bring her home, or I'll collect her either on my way back from seeing my girlfriend (Louise, which you may have guessed) or on Thursday.

Myself? I'm not too bad. aches and pains due to the season, but hopefully longer, warmer days will improve that.

I am so sorry that your mum's health is so poor. You must very worried.
I've just visited my parents. On the whole, they are fine, thank goodnes.
Still, we'll go to see them every few weeks if possible.
Chin up, Neal, you now have somebody to share your burden.
