aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Mar 10, 2009
hello Neal,
would you mind expanding your health wishes to my PC?
I'm currently on my son's PC, and I'm lucky, because he isn't at home.
I'm glad you had a good week, and giving his prize to you was a noble gesture of whoever it was.
I think a quiz would be a very good idea, we haven't had one for quite a while now. I'm sure Natalie will send a few t-shirts and badges if we ask her. There's no reason why you should spend money on prizes.
I'm fine again (now just the broken tooth to deal with).
>>I wonder if doing isn't a trigger!<<
Not at all, I love my work for , and I have all the help and support need from the team.
So please, don't worry about me, I'm not quite my usual cheerful self, but I'll be again soon, I promise.
Have a good week.

Hello Claudia.
I am so pleased that your health problems were not so bad... iah, and I'd gladly send my health wishes in the direction of your PC. The only reason I expressed concern is that it is rare, if not unheard of (as far as I am aware, and I did make some discreet enquiries) to have a general anaesthetic as an outpatient, due to the high risk of complications, so apologies and for my concerns. I hope all is proceeding well now...
I'm also glad is not a trigger as well. I know how much pleasure you get from it.
hub keeps cutting out. I'm typing away, look up and there's no text on the monitor!
The quiz it is, then. It is a picture-photo quiz, as I explained, with 50 photos of famous British people and their dates to possibly help, and a sheet of around 80 names to choose from. It's worth a try as there's nothing to lose, and it can be done as required! No quiz master needed! To think the Meet is only 8 weeks away!
BTW, with that jigsaw link, there is no need for rotation as all the pieces are the right way up. They ust need sliding together. A suggestion. If you clear the central area, and work on the straight edged pieces, then fill in the centre it may make a little more sense.
I hope your health improves rapidly, and nothing more happens, and I know your cheerful, self will back too. I cannot help being caring of others. i feel the same with Mal and Cyn, when their health is affected. It is just that I care for my friends and want the best for them.
Special s, es and from both Mum and I, as always.

Hello Neal,
it's funny you mention it, because I was about to tell you that it is absolutely mormal here (well, at least in Frankfurt), and has been for 20 years. It's what you've got an anaesthesist for. They calculate the dosis based on your height and weight, gender and age and the type of op you're going to have. You don't even have to go into hospital, many doctors do it in their own praxis. Most of these minor ops are standard ops, no big deal.
I'm currently a bit on and off, what with my pc having been set up new, still not working properly....
I think I'll just go and have a nap - or rather try to have one.
Have a good day.

Dear Claudia,
I trust you are well . I see another copy of has fallen on my desk so I can tell you have been busy . I shall have to leave it for a few days as I, like you, am off to see the folks.
I hope you have a pleasant journey, and an enjoyable event. A 50th Anniversary! Quite an achievement! Have a good time, and recharge those batteries.
I'm off to do the same. I was meant to go yesterday, but a cold stopped that. It's with that in mind that I owe you, and the other Eds and sub-eds an apology.
I guess I have made a complete of myself recently. Unfortunately events that are going on here finally caught up with me, and my entry getting pre-modded just tipped the balance. I am , which is why I am to be going away... To think, and just get away from home for a few days.
Anyway, I won't write any more in case I dig an even bigger hole for myself!

I hope you had a good weekend and have come back with a clear head and a lighter heart.
My weekend proved to be great, and I intenfd to do a journal about it. I'll hopefully get a few photos to upload soon.
Rich is back now, which means service as usual.
We had lovely sunshine on Saturday, but it's overcast and very cold again. You really can tell that we're still early in the year.
How is your mum? Hope all is well with her.
My m-i-l isn't too well, but we hope she'll be much better soon.

Hi Claudia,
I am so pleased the weekend was a good one. It seems you enjoyed yourself, judging by your Journal.
My weekend was delayed by a day, due to my cold . The good part, apart from the prospect of seeing the family, was that my Uncle and Aunt were due to turn up. And I managed to hand out the . And got a few in return.
I had a fair bit of quality time with Dad, and saw my elder Sister's new house and saw younger Sister's alterations to her house, which was
All the family (except Mum) went for a Mothering Sunday meal, that was great even if it probably broke my Dad's .
Dad, Step-Mum, Uncle and Aunt spent Monday in Canterbury, although it was . We were going to tvisit the Cathedral but, at £7.00 each, just to enter the grounds, we decided against it. Took along scenic route back before being dropped at the station to get a train home.
I've now the venue for my Birthday Party, just down the road, (it's probably a 10/15 minute walk from here) and put aside the for it.
And yes, the batteries are recharged... for the petulant outburst. Just and shocked last week, especially as the entry is still only a work in progress...
I must speak to Mum. I've not had a chance over the weekend,. vut last I heard she was fine.
Take care, and have a good week. Not long until the Meet.
Stay well.

Hello Neal,
I'm glad you had a good time at your dad's.
>>especially as the entry is still only a work in progress...<<
whether or not an entry is finished doesn't make any difference as far as moderation is concerned. It is on site, hence it has to follow the house rules, it's that simple. From what I gathered, it was picked up by the mods, not by any researcher.
It's never a good idea to accuse somebody of having yikesed something, as we'll never have evidence anyway, and in your case, you have horribly upset Mina. Tbh, I think you owe her an explanation, if not an apology (if you haven't done so yet, that is).
It's been a very busy few weeks for me, what with the wedding anniversary and my brother and his partner visiting this weekend. In addition, it is Post weekend, and I haven't even started writing my RR yet - plus we have a whole hour less.
I see you've booked the venue now.
As you know, I can't say whether or not I'll be able to attend, but I will let you once I know.
Less than six weeks till the meet.
I'm really looking forward to it. Hope it wont be as cold then as it still is here now.
Hope your mum is fine.

Hello Claudia...
I hope you are well, because you sure seem to have been busy, what with RR and your German food entries. And very well done too.
Is your PC fixed now, or are you still borrowing your son's?
And I'm pleased the Golden Wedding anniversary went well too.
As I say, you have certainly have been busy.
I wish I could say the same!
The main thing I've done is give an unreserved apology to BB and remove my entry from the guide in it's entirety and now consider the whole entry thing as closed. No more updates or flea market entries for me.
As you've seen I've bought a new camera and already got myself into trouble! Not that it will stop me rattling off photos. Rather be a martyr to being able to take (reasonable) photographs with certain freedom! And all that to get a photo for an entry going through the subbing process (and one of my own! )
Work is steady, but my hours are going to change, imminently, and not to my advantage! Just waiting to hear the worst.
Had a great gig last night... A twin 60th birthday party... Great fun, good food and free
Other than that, very little. Unfortunately my neighbour was found two days ago. It was first suspected as a heart attack, and now as suicide... Either way, not good.
Only five weeks to the Meet! I'm still unsure what is transpiring with the afternoon Meet event. Like the Telegram voting thread, the afternoon Meet thread has , so I may be taking a few interested researchers around Kew Gardens. I don't fancy getting arrested, in the City, before the evening Meet!!!
That may change if the voting revives again...
Must away and get my supper on... I'm getting a little and light-headed now... Out getting more photos for an entry, A9042707, as there was a Stirling Engine Rally at the local steam museum.
Must dash

Hello Neal,
glad you had a good gig.
Sorry to hear about the unfavourable working hours, though - does it mean you'll have to start earlier, or will it mean reduced hours, or what?
The last you told me was that they're going to sack people, so I guess even not so good hours are still better than no work at all.
Gosh, is it really only a bit more than four weeks till the meet?
I'm always so busy these days, time just flies by.
>>As you've seen I've bought a new camera<<
You must have nearly as many cameras now as you have cufflinks.
Is collecting cameras a new hobby of yours?
Sorry to hear about your neighbour, it's always sad when such a thing happens.

Hi Claudia?
How are you today? I hope you are well and enjoying better weather than here. It is dull and overcast here, and that may be causing my . oh well.Never mind. I am shortly off to get my hair cut, so that might remove some of the pressure!!!
I received my new hours yesterday... A bit of and
My working weekdays will start at 09:30 and finish at 19:00 (their choice) with a 45 minute break (my choice), except Wednesdays, where two out of three finish at 17:30 and one at 20:00. My alternate Saturdays finish at 16:00 so it makes it much easier for gigs and no time clashes at work, or leaving early so upsetting other staff! The best bit is I get a four day weekend each month!!! So all in all not too bad, except I need to get up at 06:30 each morning ... Ouch!!!
>>Gosh, is it really only a bit more than four weeks till the meet?<<
30 days to be exact... Not that I'm counting or anything.
>>You must have nearly as many cameras now as you have cufflinks.<<
I must admit I do have a few. Excluding the 10 antique bellow-style cameras, I have three standard 35mm cameras, one of which is an Olympus SLR, five digital cameras, two of which are SLR's (of which the Minolta I inherited from my Dad but is battery hungry and cumbersome ) and a digital cam-corder. A True Papperazzi!!!
The new Canon EOS450 was at a good price , with the advantage that my Dad has a couple of spare lenses I can have. A real bonus.
I am just for some good weather to get snapping, as the quality of the new camea is superb. I thought my previous camera was good, but this blows that away . I'll still use my usual camera for day-to-day stuff like Meets and get-togethers though.
Are you working over the Easter weekend? If not, have you anything planned? I am working Friday and Saturday, but not Sunday or Monday,so may get a chance to get out with Mum somewhere if London isn't too busy with tourists etc.
Poor Gnomon is subbing my new entry. A real headache as the timeline is drawn from a that is made up of about ten different records so it leapt all over the place. I hope I've finally pulled it all together!
Little else happening. I've booked my August holiday, and the Hotel for the Hull Meet. Just awaiting the train details to be posted, then that will be me broke! All the annual bonus gone... Although I did traet myself to a couple of CD's today, just to perk myself up, by a group called Bond, who you may have heard of
http://www.myspace.com/bondofficial
Anyway... time for the a visit to the shearer, aka the hairdresser.
Back later.

Hello Neal,
it's been a busy week once again - but I wouldn't want to have it any different.

Tomorrow night, we're going to see The Rocky Horror Show ion the Alte Oper
http://www.alteoper.de/_en/indexstart.html
I've taken the Friday off, as it's going to be late once we get home again. K insists that I should dress up (fancy dress) and put some shrill make-up for the occasion, but I don't want to.
So, not really looking forward to it any more.
I hope you had great weather and got the chance of taking the photos you intended to take.
Just a bit more than three weeks now - time is flying now, isn't it?
I really must call the hairdresser for an appointment before the meet.

I hope the RHS was good, and a pleasant evening was had by all. I've seen the film and know some of the but I'm no expert. I'd certainly be anti the dressing up, but it is a cult show!
>>it's been a busy week once again - but I wouldn't want to have it any different.<<
Must be Thursday then!
I wish I could say the same. W*rk is fairly and Easter Sunday and Monday went in a flurry of washing and ironing
Yesterday I was in the City with new prospective Management Agents for our Housing Co-Operative. We've been dissatisfied with our current Agents for a while and, with the death of my neighbour, I've to be more pro-active here.
I have a four day weekend, so I'm for good weather! I am itchin to use my new camera! Kew must be beautiful at the moment, if the cherry blossom on the trees locally are a gauge.
>>Just a bit more than three weeks now - time is flying now, isn't it?<<
Where is the year going? Soon be !!!
I'm pleased to be doing a good deed that weekend, with Mala staying here. Saves her and should be more convenient for her to leave for Ireland. I shall meet her at St. Pancras and take her straight to the Friday Fringe. I'm hopeful I can take her to the Soane Museum on Sunday if she still wants to go.
It looks like there may be a breakaway group heading for Kew Gardens, of 6 interested people, which should save my knees, and stop me slowing everyone down on the City walk.
Other than that, not much happening. My entry has gone to the Ed's, an I've another two quick entries to write, one of which I'm just waiting for a to arrive... Cost me £20, mind, but worth it, as it is an entry in my 'Ramsgate' project.
Have a pleasant day off tomorrow, and really looking forward to seeing you soon.

Hello Claudia,
First off, my condolences on the news about Pheloxi.
I know you were in regular contact with him through Yikes and probably other ways as well. Terrible news and so young.
I didn't really know him, but our paths did cross. However, the death of any researcher is a loss, his particularly due to his sense of humour.
I hope you are tomorrow.
I'm pleased you enjoyed the entry. It was a pretty rushed job, probably taking about a week to write. I really had to condense the information. I'm halfway through another, with the second on hold as the was out of stock. I've now ordered another... £30 this time, but a first edition. Better be worth it.
Off to the local soon, with my of England for St. George's Day. I can't believe the florist had sold out. First time in ten years. However he does only charge £1.00. for each one! It's £10 at work!
I hope no-one is put out at two afternoon events. I'm fine in the City at my pace, but the last time I was there on a HooToo event it me and I was fit for nothing that evening. Just for good weather.
My biggest is I have my refresher training for First Aid on Monday and Tuesday. I hope I am fit enough to complete it...
Enough of my chat...
Only 15 days now. Just hope ruffled feathers are smoothed, and it is a Meet. I'm really looking forward to seeing you again, and meeting Mala for the first time. That's going to test my cooking skills.
Take care, keep and Mum and I send heaps of , s and compassionate es.

Hello Neal,
pheloxi's death was a great shock, especially since I had seen the subject line of the journal and feared the worst, then to find pheloxi post some link - or that was what I thought, anyway. Then to find that my initial feeling had been right after all, was very bad.
Like yourself, he was one of my 'oldest' friends on here, and it is a great loss. Not just for me, but for many others, too.
I hope you'll have fun at your local, celebrating good ol' St George.
I'm sure it's going to be a great meet, but like you, I'm hoping for good weather, too.
From what I understood from RF, he thinks there should only be one common activity, and the vote is for Kew from what I've seen.
I'll see what he'll say, I'm sure.
I guess you are referring to our walk through Hyde Park which exhausted you so much? I'm very sorry that I lost my way in there.
Why don't you let Mala do the cooking? As she is vegetarian, that would probably be simpler for you as a carnivore.
The remaining 15 days will be over in not time at all.
I only hope my dentist appointments will be convenient, but I think it should be possible to start all the hard work only after the London meet.
Good luck with writing your entry.
See you soon.

Hello Claudia,
Just can't believe where the time has gone, or how it has been this week.
I didn't see much today, as I didn't get home until early this morning from a very enjoyable gig last night. Unfortunately my friend's clutch in his car broke, so I had to get a slower lift off of another band member. Just hope it is like this in a fortnight's time.
How has your week been? Good I hope. Mine was steady, with a very St. George's Day celebration. It was a real shame, as the pub had made an effort, sort of.
Hope you have had good weather, and a chance to enjoy it. What have you been doing? I hope the dentist was kind.
>>RF ... thinks there should only be one common activity<<
I really didn't mean to push Kew... I just went with the flow, and the City walk is probably free, or close to free as makes no difference, whereas Kew is £13.00. I'm leaving it up to everyone concerned!
>>I guess you are referring to our walk through Hyde Park which exhausted you so much? I'm very sorry that I lost my way in there.<<
That was definitely not a problem, and was one of my favourite Meets... and it was my fault we got lost! After all, it is meant to be my town...
I was actually thinking of the last Kew Meet, where BB decided he knew aq short cut to Holborn, and route-marched us from the Embankment, to the Shakespeare's Head. It almost Hyp and I. Especially the stairs to the top of the viaduct. I hardly moved afterwards.
managed to 'lose' my phone last friday, which me. I was late for work, due to a demonstration at Parliament Square, so had to block the SIM. A friend had kindly handed it in, and it cost me £2.50 to re-engage the SIM. 10p per 5 seconds! The operator kindly phoned me back to complete the task.
Tomorrow I am on a two day refresher First Aid course. I am not looking forward to it. My tenth course!!!
I am looking forward to seeing you in a fortnight, and a fantastic weekend!!!

I have no idea where the week has gone. Oh yes, I was busy with Post work, but I managed somehow to spend anj amount of time doing nothing in particular.
Thanks for the congratulations. I didn't aim for the 25 badge, and only wrote the uni project because I wanted to feel I had actually earned my FR badge. It is the only one among my badges I didn't just get by accident.
I wouldn't do it again, though.
I'm glad you passed your first aid course, and I hope your knees are fine again.
The hats exhibition in the V&A sounds interesting.
I hope for good weather for next Saturday, but maybe we'll be lucky again. I think the only meet with bad weather was the first one we went to, back in 2004.
Are you off work tomorrow, seeing as it's a bank holiday in England?

Dull, overcast, drizzly and miserable. Luckily it isn't cold!!!
The forecast for the weekend, as of today, is spells, whereas yesterday it was cloudy! Have to see what tomorrow's forecast is.
I went back to work on Tuesday, for the first time in 8 days. I only had to take two days off, but I didn't really do anything as my knees and back wouldn't let me... My back is still making me cautious. Just hope it copes with the weekend! I'm sure it will. I am looking forward to it, but with trepidation, as always. Now is where the set in! The problem is it is over so quickly...
I've also found I've made a major . A colleague is working for me on Sunday, which I have to pay back, in July... The weekend I've booked tickets to travel to the Hull Meet! How is that???
I'm sure I'll come up with something!
Guess I'd better get back to the vacuuming, and sort out Mal's bedding, and my bed... I don't fancy on the floor with no padding. That would the floor!
See you tomorrow, and have a safe and uneventful journey. You take care... You are Special!!!
