I loved my first flight- especially the take-off- only my ears didn't approve of it
When I travel somewhere I usually take the train, and you can bet something happens then , usually it's a delay and I miss the next train, there are often people who want to commit suicide somewhere on the tracks, so you sit in the train for hours, until the police finds them. Last time it happened they cut off the electricity in the train and in the modern trains you can't open the windows anymore and with the air-condition off it soon got hot and suffocating until we opened the doors.I hardly dare to take a bus anymore, too many drivers asking for a date, trying to involve me in some conversation and not paying attention to the traffic anymore
The first time I went abroad I was 13.I went to Paris with my mother, and one day a pigeon made for my head and got entangled in my hair- uugh- I have despised pigeons ever since, never objected when my boys chased them...

You sound as if you have the same train system as us. A very famous English man in history called Doctor Samuel Johnson once said; When a man is tired of London he is tired of life.
It is obvious from this-to me anyway- that he'd never tried travelling on the London Unground. Squashed to death in a airless comparment designed by some-one with all the sensitity of an attacking dragon is not my idea of living. You may know what it's like. Women with giant shoulder bags trying to pummell you to the ground. Men with briefcases trying to knee cap you. People with those walkmen things ching ching chinging away in your ears. People with those gigantic golfing umbrellas trying to spear your toes. And as for the insecure clinging to their mobile phones like babies to their dummies...........Anyway you most likely get the idea.
I can't help but think that an English Poet by the name of Percy Bish Shelly was nearer the truth when he said; Hell is a city much like London.

I loved London, and every crowded underground is better than none, because that's what happened to us when we were in London last October, the day we arrived there was an accident on one of the northern lines, no underground going in that direction, so we had to take the bus to get to our hotel- only we didn't know which bus to take, asking ten people getting eleven replies...then standing at the bus stop watching for about half an hour all the buses we wanted to enter swiftly pass by , just because we're not used to jumping onto the road and waving frantically to bring the bus to a halt
Fortunately people were so friendly to tell us where to get off.

I said to the bus driver; Do you stop the the Ritz? He said, what on my wages?
Boom Boom
I said to the bus driver; Do you stop at the Thames. He said if we don't there'll be a big splash

LOL
Happened to an elderly couple a few years ago. They drove somewhere in the night and relied on their navigation system. Unfortunately the navigation system failed to tell them that there wasn't a bridge over the river but a ferry to take- so down they went. Fortunately they were both rescued.
Off for now, some housework to do
See you later

Hope you meant the time after finishing the housework, because I really don't enjoy doing the housework.
Spent a lazy evening though, not doing anything, not even reading because I was too tired.I'm still working my way through the latest Bryson, but have to be fully awake and concentrated if I want to understand it all.
Have a nice weekend

yeah it was a great weeknd. I dismantled, cleaned and reassembled the cooker. Hoovered. Did the laundry. Took the dog for various walks. Prepared and cooked some meals. Shopped. Changed the bed linen. Fixed the back garden fence to stop the fox from cokming in. Yeah really great.
I was being ironic.
It was really. I did get to meet some friends Sat and Sun night. Knocked back a few
Bit busy tonight. Will try to find some time during the early hours to visit the threads.

You are lucky to be ironic about this, except for dismantling and reassembling the cooker, walks with the dog ( I don't have a dog)and fixing the garden fence that is exactly what I spent my weekend with, plus going to several hospitals with my mother-in-law who had injured her eye and suffered from a terrible pain
Looks as if she cauterized the cornea by violently rubbing her eye after having got some sort of haircure into the eye
Fortunately she is better now
I was too tired and had a headache, so didn't even think about drinking or , but went to bed early, then woke up in the middle of the night, well just like today in fact

Oh Cluadia, you poor soul.
Hope the mother in law is
A friend loaned me the film Blair Witch Project. It was one hour 20 minutes long, and in that was one hour twenty minutes too long. What a load of old excretia. Three people get lost in the woods then spend one hour twenty minutes having a whinge about being lost in the woods.
One big from beginning to end.
Hope you are able to sleep

Good morning
I have heard of the film, but never watched it. Didn't they make a sequel?
I had to sleep, because I have to get up quite early, now that school's started again
I really don't mind the children being on a holiday anymore, now they're nearly grown-ups it's a quite relaxed time
Hey, you are the poor soul, working during the night
Will you have finished soon?

It is now 05:50 on the morning of Tuesday 13th. I finish at 08:00. I have completed all the copying jobs and the paperwork. It's just transmissions at the moment.
Yes they did make a sequel, which, because I thought the original was rubbish, I most certainly will not watch. Mind you I also thought Close Encounters Of the 3rd Kind was a rubbish film too.
There is a cartoon character in this country called Andy Capp. He is a wastrel and a drunkard. His wife Flo is shown talking to a neighbour. She is saying. "I never knew he drank until one day he came home sober" I have a silly sense of humour and this really made me laugh
Now your children are growing up, it's their turn to start looking after Mum. Let them wait on you for bit.

Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind, is that the film where everybody starts building some mountain-shaped thing out of pudding, mud or whatever is at hand and finally is drawn to the very mountain where the UFO has landed? I liked it, but then I just love SciFi, although there are films/ books that really are rubbish
, now I started my day with laughing too, it's really a shame that I am unable to translate any joke to tell you
The boys are ok, it's only in the mornings that they aren't organised

The other morning the Andy Capp joke was the vicar and Andy Capp talking. The vicar is saying; When you go near a pub you should say get thee behind me Satan. Andy replies I do, but the swine pushed me in.
As to working nights. I don't mind. There are others who are unemployed. Others in jobs that they hate. But I'm lucky I have a job, and one that I like doing. Ok I could get more money elsewhere and perhaps better hours, but at what cost? Doing something I don't enjoy for bosses who may not be as good as the ones I've got?
Yes Close Encounters was the one about bulding things out of mud. It just got on my nerves. It was so slow. I enjoy Sci-fi and often watch the SCI-FI channel on the satelitte dish. I know many people enjoyed this film and I will not mock them for doing so. I just did not.
You know, I'll never forget the night I met my wife, no matter how much I try. I gave her a burning kiss, I was smoking at the time. I recall the wedding as if it were yesterday. If it was tomorrow I'd cancel it.
No. No. No. Only joking. Not married.

aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Jan 13, 2004
Well I am married and would probably not do it again
I was convinced it was just a signature on a paper and nothing would change, never listened to my mom who told me it would
But to be fair, it's not only signing papers that made the difference, but having kids and I never would want to miss them
Off now, I start working at 8.00, so only 20 min.left.I like my work too and am glad I have a job.

Due to road works, diversions and traffic jam the drive from the station, which normally takes 10 minutes, took 45 minutes.

Guess you were late for work then? I've only just a mile to go, so if everything would go wrong I could leave the car and walk the rest
With the weather - hopefully- improving soon I think I will revive the bike
I'm at an age now where it's more important than ever to stay fit
Have you seen the " Calender Girls"? It started here a week ago and I am determined to go and watch it.I loved "The Big Monty" and "Billy Elliot-I Will Dance", now can't wait to go to the movies.

The hold up was on the way home. Instead of arriving home as usual at 0855 I got there at 0940. As to Billy Elliot. I have the video and yes thought it was quite good.Haven't seen calender girls, but have heard nothing but good stories about it.The big Monty I guess you mean the Full Monty(?) and I thought that that was quite good too.
It is very cold and there is a strong wind here at the moment.
It's quite busy. I am recording a series for Religious Broadcasting and another for the Afghan's. Then there is a series for the French to be done. After that there is a series for Drama
As for walking I have to do a lot of walking. For years I wore a metal brace on my right leg. Then in 2002 I had a series of operations on my knees and back. I walk to keep everything moving. If I sit too long I lock up.
