Bl***y cold. Snowing here. I hate the snow. The dog loves it. She runs around, flicks it up with her nose, rolls over in it. I stand there and freeze. As public transport is poor today, only one in at the moment. Should be two others. Still I'm here, so everything will run smoothly.I think they don't bother so much, knowing it is me on. Never bl***y late me, always manage to get in what ever weather, and I've the furtherest to travel.

Snow and very cold here too
I think snow should be limited to places like fields , forests and hills, and not make the roads a dangerous place to be
The kids love it, but fortunately it's already melting
For some odd reason people here forget how to drive a car the moment there is some rain or a snowflake or two, they slow down to 10mph and you just haven't any chance to arrive at work in time
Well I'm lucky, I can walk if it's too bad
Hope you aren't overworked by now

Quite a slow day, but that's tempting luck to say that. Yup, people do seem to drive badly when it snows. The road is nice and clear, and still they drive so slow. I'm told the trains are very bad, so I don't know how I'll get home tonight. My dog likes the snow. I've always said the snow is all very well on Christmas cards, and that's where it should stay. Yes I know it looks very pretty with robins hopping about. But as far as I'm concerned snow is just one big sludge.

I loved it when I was a child, and I remember the dogs getting crazy, especially in the year when we had so much snow that several villages were completely cut off from civilization, they had no electricity and hence no heating, was a very bad winter - just not for us because schools were closed and I stayed with a classmate because there was no way of getting home for a couple of days
Unfortunately my father then managed to get a place for me in an army truck - they went to our town to supply the bakers with yeast, that put an end to my easy living

Sensible adults ruin everything for us kids, don't they?
I mean You get let out of school early and some swine thinks of a way to get you back in again, don't they?

not exactly
I actually liked going to school- well, the first four and the last three years at least , but it was just as well when I finished school and finally could leave my parents home
Ahhh the smell of freedom for the first time in my life

The snowball fight on the word page is getting a bit silly, but who cares, it's only a bit of fun.
Bl***y Tajik programme down two minutes AFTER Tx, got endless forms to fill in now.

What's Tx ? And why do you have to fill in forms?
ausnother?
A Liquid Warrior (vescere bracis meis) Posted Jan 28, 2004
TX is short for transmission. The Persian section have a programme in a language called Tajik. They had to bring this programme to me for transmitting. They did not bring it to me until 2 minutes after it was due to go on air. This means a programme was late for transmission,. I have to fill in forms for management as to why I did not have the programme on my machines for Transmission and so on. It's all a pain, really.

for you
You should have told them to bring it at least one hour earlier than it had to be in, if they are similar to the Afghans, they just don't care about being in time , I sometimes wonder how they adapt to German manners, here it's crucial to be on time and accurate

It is a news programme so has to be up to the minute. Also they wanted to include something from a report in our news called The Hutton Report about the Iraq war, so couldn't do it in advance.

heard about it in our news, amazing that the " Sun" already printed the results of the Hutton enquiries - and nobody knows who is to blame for this leak
Doesn't look good for the BBC though, and Blair's neck is no longer in the sling

It's always like that
Ever heard about all the black money of our former chancellor Kohl?
Everybody else would have ended up in jail and never seen the daylight again- he just had to pay a certain amount of money

Yeah, I read about that. It seems the bigger the criminal you are, the more likely you are to get away with it. And the higher you go in power even more likely is your escape.

Hi, loads of snow here this morning, traffic broke down completely, not even the buses driving, no trains no planes...
How are you, everything today ?

Very busy. Left my office at 17;30 yesterday. It is a ten minute bus ride to the station. There was a blizzard so took 25 minutes. Caught a train out at 18;05. Fast non stopping train so very fast journey, arrived local station 18:24. Then I have a 15 minute drive. I left station at 18;24 and arrived home at 19;20, nearly one hour. Anyway. i got home. That was the main thing. This morning the train was 25 minutes late, which was no worry for I caught the earlier one, which was 25 minutes late, but arrived at the time my usual one would have. Should have all cleared up by the time I leave. Still chilly though, but they say it's getting milder.
Hows yourself?
Tony

I'm fine,
Have to prepare the daily meal for the family though and there is a meeting at school with some teachers this evening, I wonder whether I'll have to walk there, like my son had this morning.Well it's only about two miles downhill so I'll get there no matter how.Could perhaps take the sledge
Hope you'll have a good return today
Claudia
