Alright, I've been really slack lately
Posted May 7, 2003
Sorry I haven't posted my usual amount of rubbish lately. Home concerns have kept my attention in the 'real' world (I use the term under advisement) and away from cyberspace.
Those of you who speak to me outside of h2g2 know that I've got some partner and money problems that are causing me a little bit of grief, so if anyone wants to hire a hippy dogsbody in the South Side or Centre of Glasgow, please feel free to respond to this post, as the auld man is getting under me feet!
Hopefully I'll be back on form soon.

Day Five - 02.05.03 Earth Time
Posted May 2, 2003
It's been a wierd sort of day, started off feeling like I do every Friday (see journal entry below), then the day got better. Work was quiet and I got loads done during the peace. I should have known it wouldn't last.
Friday afternoon has been horrible, it's throwing it down with rain, my daughter has decided to get stuck on 'mad thing' mode and the last two hours at work were just completely mental!
Peace and quiet is all I want on a Friday afternoon, why does the universe conspire to make it horrible?
Mind you, I might be able to convince my partner to let me veg out with a book this evening.. so finger's crossed for me chaps.

Friday again... hmmm...
Posted May 2, 2003
Why is it that everyone thinks that Friday is the best day of the working week? Friday is ghastly!
By Friday there is never enough bread to make sandwiches (or it's a little bit yucky),
Friday is the day that everyone decides that they would like to get everything done and forgets that the people they are asking to get things finished only have one pair of hands.
Friday is the day when everyone tells you what they are doing at the weekend, and it is more interesting that you have planned yourself.
And Friday is the day when you have to go out for lunch with your team even if you can't really afford it.
I don't want to do Friday, I just want to go back to bed with a good book and a cup of tea. I suppose that isn't really an option though. Never really is.

Day Four - 01.04.03 Earth Time
Posted May 1, 2003
Well thank the maker for work, I feel better for a significant amount of time away from home and my child. Just needed a little space for me to fit in.
As many people will know, today is Beltaine - the Pagan / Wiccan Festival of Spring. So Blessed Be to everyone, I hope the changing of the seasons brings a removal of all negativity and a birth of positivity in your lives.
I am really jazzed about being on h2g2. I am meeting loads of interesting people, some really strange ones too but they're all interesting. I have submitted my first Guide Entry to Peer Review (well I did it yesterday, but I spent most of last night wondering if I should recall it on the basis of being really boring), so it should be interesting to see what comments I get from that. I have never submitted information to a website that wasn't my own (and therefore I was allowed, nay obligated, to write whatever I wanted!) before, so to be honest I haven't got a clue what someone else would make of an article I wrote. I haven't even written an article for a school newspaper / company magazine before. (shocking isn't it?)
Oh well, here in the realm of Manical Despot No.7 it's Day Four, and all is peaceful in the garden. So it could be a lot worse.

Arghh - Children are there to make you insane!!
Posted May 1, 2003
Why is it my daughter has to be pain in the (insert suitable body part here) first thing in the morning on the only day this week that I woke up feeling more tired than when I went to bed???
It's just not fair!
All I want is tea, a cigarette and to go to work in the usual semi-concious state. I'm good at that, I am not good at coping with, "I want a drink", "I don't want it in that cup", "I want to watch CBeebies", "Why isn't Bob the Builder on?" screamed at me by a whining 4 year old.
Now, don't get me wrong. Most of the time I really enjoy any time my daughter and I spend together. Since I work full-time I try to make the most of the short times in the morning and evenings - and weekends are party time! (good clean PG rated fun only!) But today, why did she have to do my head in today?????
