Thanks Smurfles!
My back coitainly *needs* a bit of a hug after that jaunt out!
Went over to Canterbury, and had a lovely "doing" class of a day - coffee and cakes, then went round Canterbury Tales, a sort of interactive jobbie and had a bit of good raucous culture, toppped off by a gigantic Chinese meal! It was great. My jaw aches from all the chatting and catching up.
I won't need to eat till tomorrow evening, now... which is probably just as well, as Mother isn't known for vast amounts of cookery.
How was your day out to Sheffield? Whatcha do? Whodya see?
(Not that I'm being nosey, of course )

Sounds like a good time was had by all Sal - good on ya for engineering a return trip so subtely! Have you christened your garden furniture yet?
And a lurexy scarf.. for me? Gosh Fank you... I'm a bit speechless there, but thanks very much.
The weekend wasn't bad atall for me. Met up with mum at a big craft shop in Crayford (sort of half way between Bluewater where the coach stops and Belevedere, where she lives) and we had a good mooch around... she spent a fortune on her card making stuff; she's tried quilling and "card embroidery(?)" but she's on to stamping now. And I found some brill stencils for the boxes I've found - no prizes what most folk are geting for Christmas/Birthday for the next few months, eh?
Got home, troughed a salad and just drowsed and talked... she's having trouble with her new mobile phone she finally got. One of her friend's sons had found her a tiny mobile off the net and the poor old dear couldn't see the charactors on the keys, let alone USE the bloody thing, so the following day, my mate Big Jan and I went over to Woolies and found her a "big" - and very simple phone she can cope with. We think.
Now all I have to do is persuade her that to USE the phone, it has to be be turned on.....she's getting very dribbly lately, I must admit I do worry about her a bit.
Saturday spent with Jan - a nice, foolish girly day, plenty of videos, fizzy wine and a take away... Sunday back home to chaos from the boys... they've forgotten what a dish washer is for, and obviously also how to cook supper...we won't even go near the laundry basket. I haven't yet, and god knows I have a strong stomach!
Normality is back with a vengence.
Ah well - it was fun whilst it lasted

I think it would help if you explained what Zils are then - sounds like a Russian car or maybe something you can eat

(sigh)
You can tell its a Monday, can't you?
Zils are little finger cymbols that you sort of strap onto your thumbs and middle finggers, so you can "TING" in time to the music whilst waggling one's bits about in an apparently interesting way.
Its the everyday equivalent of patting your head and rubbing your tummy simultaneously and at the same time, sort of thing.....
Only in a cultural sort of a way!
The more I do these classes, the more it seems if you've got stuff that jingles or clanks, it doesn't really matter if you can do the moves right, just as long as you make a lot of noise doing it!
Still, I do find it a bit of a giggle.

Yup it's monday and I did "do" 60 hours last week
Ahhhhhhhhh Finger Zils Now I understand - so what with TING things + bits of stuff round your head and waist - let alone the diaphonous trousers and pointy toes feet it's gonna got a bomb init!
ps In the carribean "TING" is a soft drink - pineapple and grapefruit or summat.
"TING wid a Sting" is the same with a slug of white rum in

Sounds like you need a few ob dem Tings wid a Sting to wake you up a bit. You must be ever so slightly knackered....I am too, but thats because it was painful over the weekend, dammit.
Liam was - after his first full week at work - he was doing from 7.30 till around 4.30 a day and he couldn't lift a paper bag when he got in on Friday!
(Mind you, he managed to do 2 disco/rave thingies over the weekend...
ah.. the resilience -or is it just sheer stupidity, I wonder? - of youth!)
Cheers, m'dear

Doing absolutely nothing naughty (worse luck) I assure you
Naw... the back isn't going S'hhh... best I can hope for is it goes back to the pain levels I've had for years.
So far, in small doses it's just going back to being painful rather than agony - (plus nerve damge... and they don't know when that'll clear up, if, indeed it does...)
Its the damp weather what was hurting this weekend...
Now its p****g down, the arthritus has kicked into "wet" mode bigtime.
Ho hum!
