mmmmm hot juicy swede
we tried some of the anthracite from the mine oop t'road and the rayburn ended up above 350°C (that's as high as the dial goes) so I thought it would be a shame to waste all that heat.
now i can eat a nice smooth bit of swede whenever i fancy...

indeed!! Wot with tasting a bit of swede and buttered french (beans that is!) you'll be eating your way around Europe.

Last time my range got up as high as 350 degrees was with the high winds we had in Eire.... (Force 9s were par for the course during the winter months) Fang the cat was curled up in a nice tight little furball near the firepan side of it, when we got a bit of blow back and the damper door pinged open..... the firebox took off big time, Fang got hurled backwards and bullseyed out of the cat flap without his paws touching the flooring. When he staggered back in, ever so slightly dazed and confused, all his whiskers one side had melted and gone all curly........
Poor we may be, but by 'eck, we know how to make our own entertainment!!!!
