If my wait is typical you may have some time to think about scouting before you are offered a badge - roughly six weeks, but I guess it varies depending on scout turnover.
How's the sub-editing going?

Check the GuideML first off. When that's all sorted I run it through my spell checker to get the spelling sorted. Then read it through carefully to check the grammar, and see if there are any questions I need to ask the author about it. Then I look to see if there are any links I can add. That's about it I think

Although hopefully obvious stuff like that gets picked up in Peer Review... it's more stuff like people putting 'definately' when they mean 'definitely', and so on.

Oops! I should be more specific - I meant obvious stuff like putting 'ahd' instead of 'had' usually gets noticed in PR...
