yes that is implemented. though you have to rember to mark your own name as someone who is allowed to see it

hmm the technolgy, simple and could do with lots of features to make it simpler

Can I recommend a link to the journal entry where you wrote about it, when my extension said the forum it didn't do much good. Adding A1146917 worked wonders.

Oh while I remember I know a group that roleplays by MSN. If your systems working well then I might point them in this direction if thats good by you? I'll send an email later tonight.

Its ok by me, but ensure they know that its a prototype rather than a completed system.

I was going to post this into the assains thread but then realised it was getting a little long.

OOC: I am guild advisor, I have got away with murder in the past.

I know what I need to do at the momment. Such as including features that were never included in the original spec but are very much a requirment for it to run smoothly but i can't easily get done with the current design.

such as an easy way to see if postings go onto the next page, at the moment next and previous are always there, it has no number visible on the posts. a lack of a log of moderation, i was also thinking of including a feature for fully hiding a post from everyone to help withthe moderation (but with a feature that allows you to state why . don't think it will be needed, but it will be easier if included from the start.

Also i intend to make the games multithreaded to allow for multipy areas. so on the creation of a game it would get a main thread and an OOC thread as default, with the abiltiy to add extra threads as other areas are required. However with the same stats accross all the threads inside the games.

Then most inportantly of all, implement the display using stylesheets. this would then leave the potential for skinning the system, or at the very least make it easy to make it look consistent and a little colourful.


however, i am not going to include avatars or signitures. I don't see why such things should exist for the user when all the games potentially could be completely differnt. though i will later add funtions such as the abilty to use an image tag to link out to images that are relevent to the game, non relevent ones being removed. Also would consider implemnting smilies if anyone made them.









There are lots of things that need done, thats why I am saving designing it till im away and only have paper and pen, and not a computer nearby that would be of use to me. That way i should be able to design it to include things without the temptation to get carried away and start implementing it without fully writing out everything i intend to do.

Can I suggest one more thing (because that workload doesn't seem enough on its own :P) Is there any way you could get the text box a person is typing into to be at the bottom of this existing thread rather than on a new page (as in livejournal) A lot of the time in RPGs people need to see the description of the area they are in and what is happening to write a proper response.

Oh and if a high ranking member of an assasins guild couldn't get away with murder it wouldn't be an assasins guild would it

That sounds like a resonable request.

I think I can work that in. that would make the posting section an extension of the main reading of threads rather than a seperate page.

(for how the user sees it anyway, ill still treat it as a seperate page but with integration )

I will probs also add the ability for users to set the number of posts that they want to have per page.
