Well, after a day of smiley - bubbly with lunch (at home) and smiley - redwine with dinner (out at the 'birthday restaurant') I think we are both feeling pleasantly squiffy.

smiley - cheers Big Red!

Long time no see - how are things?

Tomorrow our very own blickybadger is going to be here for a week-long visit. So, am quite looking forward to that (and it was great motivation to do some much needed spring cleaning).

Well, I'm trying to catch up with the always fascinating Lua thread.

Plus we finally broke down and hired a cat shrink (translation for those who need: psychiatrist) for Mars last week after months of breakage and damage, love bites that break the skin, etc. smiley - bruised

She had never seen anything like him -- the fact that he rarely sits, but is always moving, grabbing the window blinds, opening cabinets, leaping on furniture, jumping on our 12-year-old cat, etc. I swear that when we first brought him home as a kitten he didn't sleep for four days! smiley - steam

My husband took him in for blood work today to see if he has hyperthyroidism. If they rule out physical causes, she recommends that we try Prozac! I said that if we do that we can always break into his stash. (Yes, I'm kidding.)

He's now 19 months old.

Only other news is having an exciting Southwest U.S. trip planned for late next month. I've never been to that part of the country! The Grand Canyon, Sedona and Flagstaff, Ariz., Santa Fe, New Mexico, real Indians, etc. smiley - wow

What's new with you and Noggin? (Never mind, I'll just finish the Lua thread!)

Hi again, Big Red,

I re-posted your last posting on the Lua thread because I thought some people there might find it interesting.

Meanwhile, things with Noggin are just fine. smiley - loveblush

Right, and I forgot to say in my reply over on that side that I don't mind in the least.

Congratulations--I don't know if I was around to say that before. And congrats to you and Noggin, too. I think I'm back for a while this time--I don't know. I'm sure I won't have time to be on the guide once the school year starts again--I'm going to university this fall--but I'll try to be more active over the summer.

hi RDO,

Nice seeing you around again. smiley - smiley

For some reason I thought you were already at university - what will you be taking there?

Noggin might be here a bit later to answer your history question on the God thread. The internet connection for his laptop isn't working and so we're sharing my computer atm. He's reading most stuff with me but has to wait for me to stop hogging the computer so he can write. smiley - winkeye

Thanks for the congratulations. Two years on hootoo and almost one year with Noggin are both very special 'milestones' - hoping for lots more.

I'm not that old--I won't even be able to vote until the end of the month. Although I'm not sure what party to register for, or what state to register in. But I've got a little while to worry about that. I haven't decided between a chemistry and a physics major. I don't have to officially decide until the end of my first year, so I'll see which classes I like more.

'k. I've been away from hootoo for long enough that I'd forgotten he'd probably want to respond to it. I just remembered that Malth was a bit of a Bible expert, so I mentioned him.

Congratulations to you and Noggin. It's nice to see that two of my favorite hootooers are happy together.

A history question on the Bible? I could probably help.

In responce to something Della said somewhere, the question being when the Bible was actually edited/assembled/politically directed/ect. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I posted it. Maybe God thread.

Oh, no problem. There are only about 10,000 posts in there, so I'm sure I'll find it easily. smiley - winkeye

clzoomer- a bit woobly

I'm not sure if it will help or not but here's an excellent view of the authorship of the Bible, the difficulty of dating some parts of it and the dramatic difference between the Old and New Testament:

http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mbible1.html

I found the reference to the *Redactor* to be of great interest. Sort of a 500 BC King James for the Old Testament. All in all (for me) a better read than the subject matter. smiley - winkeye

Yes, it's on the God thread, Blathers, about 3 or 4 dots back.

Very well. Is it ok if it's aluminium foil--can't find any tinfoil in the stores around here?
