And since *that* last post I've done almost a complete switchover to Firefox, leaving only hootoo on IE (aside from the larger text for some reason my h2g2 page doesn't fit into the Firefox window, even using normal text).
I also just discovered the bookmark option on the Firefox personal toolbar -
Perhaps over the weekend I'll have some time to try and get to grips with these feedreaders . . . and also do a little checking out of other people's blogs.

Hmmm. I'm reading this, here in my Gates-free zone, and it all looks fine in Firefox. Something to do with hootoo skins, maybe? I've always stuck with Brunel.
'course, the Firefox bookmarks route won't solve your laptop/desktop issue...but surely http://reader.google.com is the way to go?
If you have a moment...my *other* blog - heavily plugged on Psychocandy's 'Recipe Central' is http://flamingpiecafe.blogspot.com . It's a ressurection of flamingpie.co.uk, which I ran for a few years. My archive *was* linked in, but my hosting has fallen over. Has anyone got any server space going spare?

Just on my way to bed so will check all that out later.
Stupidly decided sometime after midnight that Noggin's blog skin is actually set up better than mine. Even though I prefer the colours in my original one it just looked weird that there was no 'intro' on the front page - it felt like just jumping in somehow, with no focus. Also, there was no links list on the original skin. So have spent the last half hour re-arranging stuff so it fits on the new skin.
So now we have matching skins.
Well, Noggin may still change his as he hasn't tried out all the other options yet.
So . . . did I make a good decision? I don't think it's as pretty as the other one but it is certainly more functional and user friendly.
And now to bed.

IE discriminates visual impaired!
firefox > prefences > "global icon*" > fonts (or letters) / colour > (may be) advanced
just play with it.
* I hade Dutch version I can not remember the English.

>>IE discriminates visual impaired!
Indeed! That's one reason why Firefox is the default browser for Ubuntu Linux which places great emphasis on accessability (mainly on accessabilty in all languages - but also for people with disabilities).
Although...I assume there isn't a Linux IE anyway.

I must say opera is like firefox.

Yup. Anything but IE, basically. IE is also a magnet for spyware.

I tried Opera once and didn't like it so I was hesitant to try out Firefox awhile back - but now I'm so glad I did. You're right, pheloxi, that Firefox doesn't set limits in text size, which is quite important I think.
In fact, this was something our webpage designer was quite adamant about - us not 'locking' the text size on our site as many places do even though the page looks best on 'normal' size (everything 'fits' and is where it should be, design wise). He said anyone with visual problems would immediately be alienated and their main concern isn't that the page looks 'pretty' but rather that they can see the thing! And of course, he was right.
Anyhow, been having lots of fun with this great new skin this morning, have moved around photos and put a new one in the 'intro'.

Are you referring to the 'page not fitting' thing, Edward? Weirdly, both Noggin and I use alabaster and his page fits just fine using Firefox but mine ends up 'off the page' somewhat and you have to scroll over.
On IE both our pages fit okay, even using the biggest text size allowed by IE.
I actually think Brunel works better but it's sooooooo frÃckin' ugly that I stick with alabaster.

My blog entry about the clothing biz stuff has been expanded upon by Noggin on his blog and he says a lot more about 'web traffic' issues and asks more direct questions. So if you'd like to check that out and comment then here it is.

I'm going to post this here because I'm in a bit of a rush and can't figure out how to register over there.
So, are you going to do a men's line?
If you came up with a roomy (less roomy than I used to need) long sleeved medium weight linen shirt for men, pullover rather than seven buttons, three buttons at the neck, I'd probably ask for a dozen.

azahar Posted May 8, 2006
Um, you don't have to register there. Just click on 'comment', leave your name and email address and that's it.
Thing is, before we can make any more new clothes we have to start selling the ones we have. I don't see a men's line in the near future - if we branched out at all it would probably be to do kid's stuff.
However, if you'd like to place a special personal order . . .

Hmm. I didn't see a 'comment' button. Perhaps starvation is making me blind.
As for the special order, let me think . . .

Yes, if you are looking at the post on the homepage you have to click on 'comments' first and then at the bottom of *that* page there is a Leave A Comment box.

I'm still trying to figure out how six7s managed to leave a smiley there earlier today. I looked all over the site and couldn't find any smiley options.
