Ooops, sorry, have changed that last link somewhat to this:

http://azahar.wordpress.com/tag/clothing/

Just because people on Wordpress might find my post more easily if it just says 'clothing'.

Don't worry, will get the hang of this sooner than later I hope.

I also just started this journal entry, which should be self-explanatory.

In answer to the question...

I'm not ready to leave. It would take all the right people being together on a single site (and some wrong or not-yet-known people to stimulate debate 'A stranger is just a friend you haven't made yet'smiley - smileysmiley - ill)

Also...I don't want to post comments anywhere that demands an e-mail address. I've had too many accounts killed by web spiders.

Edward, I would guess that on Wordpress that they put the email addresses they ask for into code - they only show up as a readable email address on the email I receive when I get a comment. The email addresses don't show up at all on my Wordpress 'managers' page.

That's what I hoped...but I wasn't sure.

Anyway...the first comment was the one I'd have made.

Thanks alji - and please leave a comment over there on the clothing post. Not quite sure what you mean by content (clothes or text?).

Also, how do the RSS feeds work? (that you can answer here if you like). smiley - smiley

If in doubt...W***pedia, I'm afraid: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(protocol)

RSS = Really Simple Syndication - so obviously there's nothing tricky about it. It's just a way of subscribing to sites so that you get to know when they're updated. The problem for me is that my work computer won't let me do it.

I use AmphetaDesk because it's free @ http://www.disobey.com/amphetadesk/index.html You can find all the info there.

My browser at home (Mozilla Firefox) allows you to add RSS feeds as 'Live Bookmarks'. I think Opera does the same (probably). Both of these are better browsers than IE, and there can be downloaded free.

Oh...and most blog sites have a wee button which lets you add a feed just by clicking.

I was reading up on this just now and, since I use both my PC and Noggin's laptop, it seems that a web-based feedreader would be better for me. Any suggestions?

Yes. Install Mozilla Firefox.

Oh - wait. I see what you mean. You want to keep your feeds when you switch machines.

(But anyway...http://www.mozilla.com/)

I'd stick with Google myself. Their web-based e-mail is the biz.

I'm using both IE and Firefox - mostly cos I'm lazy. I've got my biz stuff set up on Firefox (bookmarks etc) and have it set to medium sized text because the website looks best with that size. And I've got IE set to the largest size text cos I prefer reading h2g2 (and now also my blog) with the bigger text and, as I say, I'm too lazy to keep switching the text size.

Yeah, I want to keep my feeds when I switch machines, though I guess if both of us had the same ones that would solve that. Still, one preferable to the other (desktop and webbased)?

Since that last post I have realised that I actually prefer the weblog page with 'normal' size text, so I'm now using Firefox for that too. Seems all I'm using IE for anymore is hootoo.

Still cannot understand these feedreaders . . .
