Yes, I unlurked for a moment on the 'design thread' to ask the whereabouts of the originator of the thread. Perhaps he will be like the guy who started the god thread - just get the ball rolling and then disappear.
As for Della, she almost seems to willfully misunderstand people at times. Also, I had to wonder why she posted on the atheism at school thread that I had 'warned her away' from the abortion thread when I had done no such thing. And when I called her on it she simply said she didn't want any conflict - as if *I* had been trying to create conflict?
I do find it quite frustrating when I am misunderstood (which has happened a few times recently on the abortion thread, with Mycroft, Kelli and kea) but, as I did this morning with kea, I usually try to explain myself more clearly rather than just get cross. The thing is, no matter how carefully you might write something, you have no control over how it will be read.
Meanwhile, maple syrup on ??? Ick.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Apr 2, 2004
Hi azahar, came to post a message but was having a nosey around first (as I usually do <nosey> when I spotted this. You don't seem to have been speaking to me today so I thought I'd clear up what I said on that thread yesterday. I put the in my comment to try and show that I didn't think what I was saying was really true, I was just being a little bit provocative - can't have these threads getting too cosy and agreeable after all
And maybe I didn't make myself entirely clear on the thread - I don't want to divert the conversation there again so I haven't bothered posting about it again. The reason I don't think NM is a hypocrite is that in the interview I saw she lacked the kind the kind of cynicism I usually associate with that sort of person. She just seems like a really sad person that has had lots of horrible things happen to her. She seemed to lack the kind of deliberateness I associte with hypocrisy if you see what I mean.
Anyway, sorry if I upset you

azahar Posted Apr 2, 2004
well hello ms nosey!
No, you didn't upset me. But you kept on and on and on to *me* about using the H-word when blicky had also said he thought she was being a hypocrite. Also, yesterday Tamberlaine came along and expressed pretty much what was also my opinion, and also calling her a hypocrite. And you didn't confront him either.
The only thing I took umbrage to was when you said that I'd call anyone who didn't agree with me a hypocrite. No amount of smileys could make that sound good, to be honest. And I had just gone through some crap with Mycroft misinterpreting almost everything I posted and then wanting me to defend myself from his version of what I said, so I was probably feeling a bit defensive.
It's obvious that you don't agree with me about this woman. Fine. I really don't mind at all when people don't agree with me. But I do like a good debate. The point for me is not to *win* the debate but to keep interesting ideas and opinions flowing. Though now and then there are simply times when one has to agree to disagree.
So, I think this woman is a hypocrite. You don't. Okay, fine. What's the problem?
Thanks for dropping by.

hi Fathom,
So are you getting ready to book off for the weekend? I just came back from having a lovely lunch and possibly a bit too much with my handsome married man pal, Juan. (*sigh*) We had lots to talk about as this was the first time I'd seen him since before the Madrid attacks.
Math has started up that group if you are interested. You know, for those possibly un-aloof momentitos. You can write to me at the yahoo email for more info if you like.
Must go and sober up now!

Fathom Posted Apr 2, 2004
Better have a to sober up then.
Ah yes, the weekend. Seems like only a few days since the last one.
We're going away for Easter weekend (a primitive pagan festival but I'm hypocritical enough to take the holidays ) so we need to get ready and sort out our packing. However I'm currently fitting some new wardrobes and a lot of our clothes are being stored in the suitcases pending the completion of said task. I could be in a lot of trouble if I don't have functioning wardrobes by Monday morning!
Go easy with the - don't risk Juan drink too many!
Buon Notte

Next week - thanks to the bl**dy Catholics - I have a grand total of TWO classes. So *no* money honey.

There you go again not making any sense.
Gee, P-c didn't commment at all on my pathetic review of The Passion after asking me to give him one. Must have been even worse than I thought it was.

hi Kelli - still lurking?
<>
Well, you haven't spoken to me for a couple of days now, not even since popping in here on my chat thread with Fathom and not even after I answered you. Though I noticed you online yesterday and this morning.
Don't worry about Fathom, he never seems to mind the occasional extra female showing up here (do you darling? ). I do prefer to keep my two-way chats as such, though of course there is no such thing as a *private* chat on hootoo. But anyhoodle - please finish what you wanted to say to me. Or was that it and you hadn't wanted any response from me?
Meanwhile, you are making me totally envious with the losing weight thing, girlfriend! Though I know it isn't easy. Perhaps what I envy is your reason for motivation?
Well, Fathom probably won't be back till sometime on Monday so if you want to chat here with me in the meantime, you know where I am.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Apr 4, 2004
Don't let the eyes fool you - at weekends I tend to be on my broadband connection at home and leave it connected for hours and hours - I only pop in for the odd comment when the fiance isn't looking
In fact right now I should be washing the car...
clutching hand in head
azahar Posted Apr 4, 2004
Yes, that's me too. I turn on the computer when I get up and, when I am home, just leave it on with the broadband connected. Then I pop in between classes or chores or whatever.

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Apr 4, 2004
Right, that is the car done. Now I can choose one of the following fun tasks:
Laundry
Tidying the house
Cutting the grass
Finish unpacking my suitcase
Make him lunch
Take a walk into town to buy his breakfast for tomorrow (but mainly to get a 6 mile walk for the exercise).
Any favourites?
The weightloss thing has its ups and downs. I did so well until last summer - I had lost 74 lb from my maximum weight. Then in the autumn/winter I did tons of travelling so tons of eating the wrong stuff from roomservice and making excuses not to exercise. Got about another 7 lb to get back to where I was, then can start losing some new weight. I must have lost several tons over the years Shame it always finds its way back home again eh?
clutching hand in head
azahar Posted Apr 4, 2004
I remember once a long time ago you sent me links to 'before' and 'after' photos of you and I remember commenting on how pretty you are!
My extra tonnage occurred after my op a few years ago. About two stone! Combination of hormal flux, becoming totally sedentary and *old age* I actually haven't seriously tried to lose weight - yet - and luckily I stopped putting on any more weight a couple of years ago. But it's not good. I feel like I am wearing a 'fat suit' and that this extra flesh does not actually 'belong' to me, somehow. It just feels odd to look and feel so . . . um, LARGE. I keep telling myself that I *must* do something about this but so far I've been lacking the much-needed motivation. *sigh*

kelli - ran 2 miles a day for 2012, aiming for the same for 2013 Posted Apr 4, 2004
The upcoming nuptials are a good motivator for me, want to get a fab dress. Maybe you should get hitched again, just for diet purposes obviously
Now I've finished waxing the car the heavens have opened - why do I bother? Have hung up the washing, put a new load in and made his lunch. Looks like the outdoor tasks are out until the cloudburst passes so I'll have to do some tidying I need a maid!
I'm kind of doing the opposite - I've had my fat suit on for such a long time that it is weird as it goes away. So *thats* what a collar bone looks like. Whose cheekbone is that? It is odd, this gradual uncovering.
clutching hand in head
azahar Posted Apr 4, 2004
I think am still under the false illusion that I still have cheekbones! Hmmmmm . . .
Well, I possibly don't need to get married to find motivation but the last few times I have lost tons of weight without even trying was when I was IN LOVE So weird, it was like I could eat and drink anything I wanted yet the pounds just fell off me almost visibly!
But you know, you just can't go out and *fall in love* just when you want to. Too bad!

Morning ladies.
Occasional extra female?
I really don't know what you mean, az, it's not as if I ever encourage them.
Hi Kelli, how are you? I hope everything goes well with the weight loss and the wedding.
Lots of decorating and DIY over the weekend. The house is a tip - all sawdust and tools and stuff with all our belongings hidden in odd corners. Nothing seemed to go according to plan on Saturday either so it was virtually a day wasted. Need to get some of this done this week because we're going away for Easter. I think I'm out of step with the rest of the world; everyone else does their DIY over Easter but I do it every other weekend instead.
I thought your review of The Passion was fine. It was certainly enough to convince me not to bother going to see it. Pattern-chaser didn't comment on your review but he's picked up on the symbolism issue and has been putting his case forward about the cross. I don't think he meant to ignore you but he's got involved in arguing his points with Della (and the dealer and the dog as well?)
Now today's exercise is to go out and fall in love. Let me know how you get on.

Morning Fathom!
So that's my mission for today, is it? Any ideas where I should go? Not too likely I am going to meet my destiny at the greengrocer's or the bookshop or on my bike ride, which is pretty much the agenda for today. Mind you, I'm definitely *not* going to meet him in my living room, am I? So . . .
az

Fathom Posted Apr 5, 2004
A greengrocer's is fine, although a supermarket is better because there are more people and it's easier to start a conversation ("you don't happen to know how to cook asparagus?") A bookshop is great but may take a while or a few visits to meet enough candidates. His choice of reading material is a useful clue to his personality too. The bike ride is less effective because you travel too fast to talk to anyone, unless you stop everytime you encounter a pedestrian.
The best bet is to take a dog for a walk. Borrow a (preferably large) dog and wander about around male oriented places like sports clubs and fitness centres.

azahar Posted Apr 5, 2004
The bike ride would most certainly be ineffective! The sight of my huge backside on a bicycle seat is not about to attract anyone!

I think you'd be surprised.
Why is it women don't accept that men like women's bottoms to look like, well, women's bottoms and not like men's? Anyway women on bicycles can be very sexy. Something about the shape and position of the saddle is just a bit erotic.

*checks time* Afternoon
"Something about the shape and position of the saddle is just a bit erotic" Painful, I'd call it.
Thanks for the good wishes Fathom - was it you that asked about a name change over of the New Business forum thread? Been a bit busy this weekend so I've been letting the backlog slide a bit...
It is possible to meet people while cycling - I remember orchestrating a cycling accident once in order to meet a boy. I biked to school and always passed a nice looking chap as he walked in. I couldn't think of a way to say hello but I knew my chain fell of if I jerked the pedals *just so*, so I did it and kind of fell off just in front of him. We got chatting and I quickly found out he was an idiot, but at least I tried

Oh, might this have something to do with all media images of women that show the 'ideal female body' looking like a teenage boy's with breasts? And then women seeing their partners drooling over the likes of Charize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Keira Knightley. Winona Ryder, Cameron Diaz etc etc?
Anyhow, my bottom is definitely 'extra female'. I'm not even sure I'd respect someone who found it attractive in its present gargantuan condition.
