Have you rejigged your personal space or maybe I have never seen it before, it is very nice anyway.
How are things going with the clothes. Are you any closer to having an international fashion house? Remeber I am available for the Milan catwalks if you need me I'll do it for free as its you all you have to pay is flights and expenses (get youre people to call my people).
Hope you and your cats are all well.
Me and the dogs are fine we might end up having Liz and sam the cat as lodgers if the exchange dates on her flat and new house dont work out, I wonder if chewy and jaja will see sam as a friend or lunch?
Ciao baby

holitas!
Yes, isn't the new page cool? It was designed by Alji for me (though I stuck in a few extra fish after he set it up) since I am such a techno dunce and couldn't figure out how to do all that flash stuff. Now Alji is trying to get me to use 1024x768 on my monitor but I'm still not sure why.
What kind of dogs do you have? (have I asked you this before?) Not sure about having a cat as a houseguest. But having your sweetie there will be nice for you, I think.
And I will only accept your offer to model if you PROMISE not to scratch yer goolies while your up there.
Must shower and get ready for work now.

Ay up duck!
The dogs chewy and jaja are cross border collie (smallish black and white sheep dogs) with old english sheep dog (like in the film "digby the biggest dog in the world" or the dulux paint ads). They are brothers from the same litter. They are fairly intelligent though they refuse to show it sometimes. Bark so loud it makes your ribs vibrate, they bark if it theres someone by the gate, it they want to play ball, if they want to be fed, if they want to go for a walk, they just bark a lot.
Chewy is the older brother and bullies jaja who is actually the braver of the two dogs and always sticks by my side if there is danger about. While chewy hides in the smallest places imaginable if theres a thunder storm.
Thye are big, they smell they leave lots of poo for me to pick up, but they guard the house, keep me company and give me a reason to come home at night(early hours or at the latest next morning) to let them out. All in all they keep me sane and on the straight and narrow. Oh and people think they are cute so I get lots of attention when I walk them.

hi sweetie!
Your dogs sound absolutely gorgeous! Well, except for maybe how they actually *sound* with all the barking they do. I know the two breeds and can imagine a mix of the two must be very nice. Great name, too.
Happily my three cats don't smell. Except for their litter box, but really that is only ever *my* fault if I don't clean it frequently enough. When this happens they will even protest by dragging a piece of my clothing from somewhere (usually strewn about the bedroom) and pee on that! Just to let me know that they are *not* pleased with the state of their litter box. Which I think is quite clever of them. It also keeps me in line. I mean, they are quite happy to let me believe that I am the 'alpha cat' around here but I am never allowed to shirk my duties.
Like your dogs, my cats are also wonderful company. And they also keep me sane (sane-ish?) as I know it is very necessary for me to have these little pointy-eared beings to take care of. Bless em.

Hi Cutie,
Either great minds think alike or fools seldom differ!
Anyhow, got your response on the other thread too.
The photos are quite fine.
And as for Liz not liking to hear about your previous exploits, well, who can blame her? Anyhow, you two sound like quite the together pair and I would be totally envious if I didn't feel just so happy for you.
Must dash off to work now.
See you soon!

Hey dude, what's shakin?
Glad we got the abortion thread going again. I am so appalled that the US Senate approved this bill and that Bush cannot wait to sign the f**ker.
Have you read Michael Moore? He is quite concerned that the US is soon going to turn into a military state because of all the fear mongering that goes on there. People are sooooooooo afraid of everything. Did you see the film Bowling for Columbine? It was brilliant in the sense that it showed how the US is mostly now a fear-based culture.
Really, this was one of the reasons I left Canada 12 years ago. I felt that Canada was becoming way too 'American' and I no longer felt like I belonged there.
Time for lunch. Hope you are well!

Hi right back to you its raining here and that is making me happy.
How the devil are you ?
Hope you are taking care of that back of yours.
Im well but unhappy with myself for running out on some kids I have been working with. I have had serious problems at work with a boss who is an complete jerk, autocratic and a religious freak. He closed the Centre during a muslim festival, because he said the kids wouldnt want to use it as they would be fasting and taking part in ceremonies. I said we should actually ask the kids if they wanted the centre open during Ramadan amd besides what about the kids who arent Muslim? I said that he was only doing it because he wanted the time off himself and to make himself look good to the local Mosque elders, he ignored me and shut the centre last year anyway. In the run up this year we had a big fight about it again. I lost my cool and dealt with it badly. The upshot is that I cant see myself getting anything done there as we are now at each others throats over everything and our area manager has offered me another post.
I feel really sad as that is a centre I used to use when I was a kid and hate to think of the kids there having their services suplied to them by someone who thinks that their needs and interests come second to his own agenda. (I really want to swear but thats how things got this bad. So I'll try not to.)
I had meant to go and see Bowling for Columbine but it came out just after I had met Liz and I did not think it was going to be much of a "date" film. I also want to see City of God about the Brazilian street kids.
If you get the chance to see the programmes that Mchale Moore made for the BBC you should check those out. I remember one scene where he was taking guns to Canada as an aid package. Telling americans that they ought to help the poor defenceless Canadians against the threat of the British and their Gov..

hi darlin',
Tough news about the w**ker boss at the Centre. I don't blame you for losing your temper. It's so hard to look into the face of total unreason and selfishness and nastiness and not want to give it just ONE CLEAN SHOT!
Michael Moore seems to have this total love affair going on with Canada. I do think he over-does it a bit (being Canadian myself) but a lot of what he says is quite true. Canadians are just not as afraid and paranoid as US-ians. Which is the bottom line.
You mentioned City of God. I also want to see that film. The other day I saw that the girl who played the 'lead' street kid had been charge with murder (she knifed and killed a taxi driver) so now she is in prison for eight years. Hard hard stuff. I have a friend from New York, Mike, working in Rio for the UN and he says it's totally nuts there. Gang violence is rampant. People are disappearing all over the place. It sounds very frightening and I worry for Mike's safety as he often ends up going into 'danger zones'.
Well, Bowling for Columbine is now out on video, so you really should see it if you can. I read excerpts from his new book - Dude, Where's My Country? - and posted the links somewhere on h2g2. The man is quite amazing, I think. I just hope he doesn't meet with an 'unfortunate fatal accident'. His last book delves into the very close personal relationship between George Bush Sr and the Bin Laden family. Hmmmmm.
Oh, my back is okay these days (touch wood). I do need to start doing some regular daily exercise to strenghten my abs and back, to avoid another occurrence. What can I say? Self-discipline is not one of my virtues.

howdy,
I posted this earlier on the God thread and thought you might enjoy it (and probably score quite high! )
It's in response to a couple of fundamentalists there (Insight and Della) arguing about sex and homosexuality. I have a feeling they aren't going to like it.

just so you know . . .
I am not against anything you have said on the god thread. I do think that Della was totally out of line on the abortion thread to assume I was some sort of war-monger just because I felt it important that women have a right to choose whether to have a termination or not. Like - connection???
I just don't like it when things get too emotional. It's not good for discussion. And I would never flame anybody. Nor would I ever even yikes a posting I didn't like, because I feel that all opinions should be seen for what they are. Even very offensive ones. Perhaps *especially* offensive ones, as these end up showing the poster for what they are.
Anyhow, thank you for all the support you have been giving me recently. I know that by supporting me you are also supporting yourself and your ideas. But if feels good to know that we are friends and that we agree on so many things.

Saw this one after the bit on the God thread ,thanks again, I do boil over somtimes and get all tetchy and if I dont catch my self or have someone else point it out to me I can start to get really unpleasant.
I would love to do the little test that you posted but this system has got some sort of fireguard that wont let me access a lot of sites. Sometimes really quite innocuous words get stopped and I have to read through my posts again. I have had to get used to spelling naughty words wrong on purpose or putting a full stop in the middle to fool the system so that I can get them posted.
Hope you hae a good weekend.
Take Care

hey dude,
I've just finished my last class for the day and just responded to what you wrote on the God thread. Also managed to stick in a bit of dear Oscar - paraphrasing.
Della often gets my back up. Well, anybody who holds such ignorant yet 'holier than thou' stances does this to me. It's not her personally I guess.
Anyhoodle, backed you up on the God thread so I am sure I will be hearing about this later.

azahar Posted Oct 28, 2003
hey Blicky,
You've been posting some really good sh*t on the God thread recently. Am most impressed.
I had decided to just ignore Della in future but in the end I cannot. And like I said to her today, if she is going to post this stuff on a public forum then she cannot complain when people disagree and confront her on what she has said.
For me it is an issue of generalizing in general. You know what I mean? Okay, you meet a few people who belong to what our society deems as a minority and then you end up making blanket assumptions based on piddly personal experiences? I hate that. As I said, the only thing I cannot tolerate is intolerance. That totally makes me angry somehow, I guess because it is SO unfair and unjust.
Being a white (more or less, my grandmother was Cree Indian) somewhat intelligent and attractive woman I have seldom come across blatant discrimination. I dress well, I look very benign to most people. Basically I don't scare them. Well, until I open my big mouth!
Personally I think the more Della posts on that page the more she is shooting herself in the foot. She is sounding quite emotional and I can't imagine most people agreeing with her views.
On a sunnier note, it has been raining cats and dogs here for the past four days! Now I have to go out to teach some classes at the general hospital. Might have to taxi there, though I can ill afford it. But the thought of turning up for my classes looking like a half-drowned rat is also not very appealing.
Talk to you soon, honey!

Hi az
Perceptions of other people are always easy ones to get wrong and so hard to put "right". Im finding it hard not to see Della as some evil dragon and not someone who has had a few bad experiences and developed some kind of a blind spot.
Your posting style has really improved of late too. Your focus on a subject and explanations of your ideas has become much sharper without losing any of the personality that has always came across. Just got off the god thread and it was good to see you getting across to TOXX just what you mean and so much better than the way I had put it.
Im having a mixed up day at the mo and Ive got some heavy weight stuff to do for the rugby club as well as getting a bunch of stuff together for a halloween party for the kids down there on Friday so I wont be on much till next week.
Take Care.

hi sweetie,
I think I give up on Della. I have tried my best to post very inoffensive postings to her, yet she still responds like I am attacking her! Evil dragon? Nah. She is just stuck somewhere quite unpleasant from the sounds of it.
My posting style has improved??? Do you really think so? Thanks for saying that. I am just trying not to be so emotional, especially on the god thread. All those guys do kinda feel like family to me by now. I really took a lot of sh*t when I first started there last March. And once I left the thread for awhile. But there is something about the people there that always makes me go back to it.
And speaking of family, you feel like both a friend and a younger brother to me - somehow. It's so weird, isn't it? How we can forge such strong feelings of friendship without ever seeing or knowing someone 'in person'.
Good ole DNA. Bless his soul. He knew what he was doing when he started up this forum.
I know that my life would feel somewhat less without knowing my Blicky! What is your real name, btw? Mine is Shawn.
