Dear Sir Mort,
Thank you for the gracious welcome to h2g2. I have a gossamer like understanding of how this complex 'thing' works. At least that is my current belief presently and subject to change. I do have one legitimate question. I may have read the answer in my scooting around the site, but I don't recall seeing it. Is there an index of ongoing conversations? When a conversation dies for lack of interest, or e.coli, Coral Snake bite, eating a bad ham sandwich, etc., how does one know? Or is it vaporised by the puppet masters?
Well, I mispoke. I have more than one question. Are there conversations which are dedicated to discussions of books, critiques of movies, and other art forms? If so, how do I go about locating such conversations?
Thank you, Sir Mort. Sincerely, #220718.

You can ask me as many questions as you like!
firstly, not sure about 'lost conversations' i am sure the italics (the bbc employees - so called as their names appear in italics such as mina or abi, unlike the rest of us poor mortals!) have a way of monitoring them.
But these pages show favourite, most recent and longest running threads.
<./>info</.>
<./>talk</.>
<./>frontpage</.>
The second question is easy - if you want to find a conversation particular thread then use the 'advanced search option' which is found next to 'life, the universe, and everything' at the top right of any page or click here <./>search</.> and if you scroll down a bit, you will see the second option is to search for a conversation.
Enter any topic keywords and it will search for any conversation threads that match your search criteria !
Hope this helps
Mort
PS I have no idea how i found all this out, i think i must spend too much time online!
