Hey there...i need help

Hi toni,
no sound. That happened to me and it was very annoying.
It was because i had chosen to have sound through the wrong modem. (my modem does my sound for me and I have an internal and external one!)
You say you have tried everything so that is probably everything that i would have suggested
Since you dont even have the audio symbol it suggests that the Sound program is deactivated as opposed to broken speakers etc.
On my START MENU I have an option to choose SETTINGS. This then takes me to the CONTROL PANEL. There i have an option to choose SOUNDS AND MULTIMEDIA which is where i edit my sounds. Of course it depends which windows you have (i have windows 2000)
But since you have been through this and checked it already then that wont be much use to you
I think my best suggestion would be to ask the <./>GURUS</.> Although they are really here to help with h2g2 problems they are all so techno minded that they may be able to help. Otherwise you could try <./>ASKh2g2</.>.
In fact do both and double your chances
Hope you get it fixed soon.

Glad you got it sorted - I know those Gurus are very clever people!
The ? Its a secret
Some of them do indeed have a 'shortcut' but most dont - particularly the more exotic!
Because we are all so laid back here on h2g2 the work is all done for us! <./>Smiley</.> This page has the whole list of them and how to write them.
(If you want to enter the smiley in Guide-ML then click on the smiley picture and it will give you the full guide code)
Otherwise it is as easy as this. < dragon > (no spaces) is < yikes > is and < run > is
But beware.... they smileys are addictive!!!
