Dieting argh!
Amanda Started conversation Feb 19, 2003
Good Morning.
I have started back at the gym and am getting in the swing of having milkshakes for brekkie. The prob is by lunchtime I am craving stuff.
Anyone got any idea's?
I might get another boatload of fruit today and just eat it all. OH, and carrots, I like raw carrots as well.
I am out tonight with mates and out tomorrow for a meal. it's italian, is this good or bad?

Never really done much dieting Manda, if anything, had trouble putting weight on . The meal doesn't sound like a problem, if you use some moderation...not always the easiest thing, depending on how much you like Italian food .

if you take slimfast shakes, because they're high in sugar, they'll cause a sugar spike in your blood and then a crash, making you all hungry and craving all sorts of stuff...
i like the zone diet myself. and if you DO get a craving, keep something [not chocolate!] with you so you can eat a little bit before lunch time. dont' let yourself get into a starved state! then you might go bonkers at an all you can eat place!
and italian is ok, but in moderation. a calorie is a calorie and carbs in pasta can add up cals pretty fast!

IMHO, the best diet. Not RADICAL.
40% CALS FROM CARBS
30% FROM PROTEIN
30% FROM FAT
KEEPS BLOOD SUGARS STABLE TO MINIMIZE CRAVINGS AND FAT DEPOSITION.
sound good?

so, don't fall into the trap that most dieters fall into. don't eat too much carb and too little fat.
like, a big bagel with jam is a horrible breakfast.
a flapjack would be better [i'm presuming it's got fat]

seriously, then, flapjacks would be a pretty good breakfast.
um...how many cals in one?

Well, the ones I have been eating lately, are bad ones.
They are quite dense. They have like 450 cals in 'em. BUT they do fill you up and last you for a while, so I spose they are not tooooo bad.

If I was to have one for breaky, then yes, I believe it would do me until lunchtime no problem.
They are really dense and full of fibre and fruit and stuff.
Very scrumptious.
