Welcome to h2g2 - I am Feisor and I am an ACE (Assistant Community Editor) here at h2g2.
Tell me .... how do you pronounce your nick-name?? My tongue is having fits - I'm pleased that you call yourself Kurat - that's a lot easier
We ACEs are here to assist new researchers so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
You can leave a message on my space just by clicking on my name at the top of this message or by hitting the reply button below - it won't hit back (usually).
I have made a "Hints and Links for New Researchers" page at <./>A719840</.> - if you go there it will lead you to all sorts of places which will help find your way around and get to know this wonderful place
It should keep you busy for a while I am sure that you will love this community as much as we do
There's lots of things to see, clubs to join and people to meet - please don't be shy - just jump right in - this is a friendly place. But be careful - it can become quite addictive - believe me I know
Enjoy!!
Have fun!!!
and above all DON'T PANIC!!!

One syllable. Stee-ou-f. In other words, stuff, only longer and with less intelligence. Kurat's just the Estonian word for Satan. I haven't had much trouble finding stuff on here so far, looked around the forums and things, read about contributing, etc. If I have any problems, I'll let somebody know.

Are you friends with the Great beast himself, or have you swallowed the Estonian dictionary? Both are valid. Only one has central heating.

Well, seeing as I'm a member of a nonexistent Estonian rebel task force, I clearly required an Estonian name. Not for any specific reason. Just for the sake of having it. I originally chose the Estonian version of my own name, but didn't like the sound of it. So, knowing Satan usually has a cool name in any language, I decided to go with that. And of course, Satan came through. Bow to Kurat.

Rebel task force?
That's nice
I don't bow to Satan'Kurat I'm afraid. I told him a while ago, I have better things to do...but occasionally he comes around for a cup of tea and some icecream, so we are on pretty good terms...

Rebel task force, indeed.
Oh, you don't have to bow. The poor guy really only uses it as an expression nowadays; he's kinda getting along in years, so we like to humor him occassionally with a bloody Estonian virgin sacrifice every now and again (only certain extremist fundamentalists participate in the sacrifices, of course).

*ahem*
I'm a Satanist by the way
How are you finding h2g2 anyway? I'm being unusually sociable and decided to prey on some newbies...mind you, you do look like you have more than half a brain, so I'm not too worried. We have some right bananas making some postings right now

Ah, I see. In that case, I don't have to worry about you thinking that Satanists actually sacrifice people or other animals. Actually, I was referred here by a friend; it took about 30 seconds of seeing the site to convince me that it was very worth a try.

Oh, and by the way, if you happen to have any suggestions for the COTI Project, they would be greatly appreciated (the entry ID is A893577).

Yeah, I've been to several FAQ pages regarding things like guide entries, XML, how to contribute, etc. Extreme helpfulnessificiation.
And I did find the community exceptionally easy to get into; this would explain why already addicted after a day and a half of membership.
As for the smilies, I've actually already looked at the page. Waaaaaaaaay ahead o' ya.

Moderately old ways are the best, I think. Why? 'Cause they've been tested, but they're not backward, yet.
