Wow, it was a busy night on here again! I was so wiped out from such a busy afternoon (had over 400 tax returns to get out, yesterday was the deadline) that I fell asleep a little after 9:00.

As for ironing, I iron my work clothes, really have no choice, but I have never ironed my jeans. smiley - cross

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

Hi all...

Don't have much to say, again (also because I just skipped all of the backlog - there were 67 posts and I need to go offline soon), but just wanted to pass by and say hello. smiley - biggrinsmiley - hug

I've never had a crease down the front of my jeans. How does that happen? Maybe if you ironed them sideways?

My jeans don't even wrinkle, really, and I can't imagine that Terri's were too bad, either. Tell those two guys to F off for me, too.

Hello; mes ami(e)s.

The builder phoned. Now, bear in mind that the work is totally within the inside of the house.

"We can't come today."

"uh huh, why not?"

"It's raining."

"Ah, i see. So when will you come?"

"Maybe tomorrow, if the weather is good."

"Jolly good; let us all pray for sunshine. If it's fine; what time will you come?"

"Don't know"

"GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!"

So, to cheer me up after this little episode i phoned social worker:

"bonjour; any news on if i am entitled to a home help?"

"Ah yes, it's good news, you can have some help"

"excellent, tell me more!"

"The specialist has said you need rest, so all you have to do now is walk to your own doctor & get him to confirm that he sent you to the specialist , then get here with the notice saying that, then go to social security & ask for a form, which you bring here & then we sign it & send a request for home help."

"Ah right, that's gonna be easy in the rain with no car whilst enjoying total rest innit?"

"oh, and you will have to pay for home help"

Right.Jolly good. Fine.

Rain continues to fall. Dog refuses to go out 'cos is presumably still traumatised & now adds water phobia to his list of psychological problems; so pees on floor & chews garlic to shreds.

Doorbell rings; it's my student, who i had completely forgotten about. Construct instant lesson which looks like i had been preparing it for weeks.

Cat upstairs in major sulk mode; haul up to feed said creature; accompanied by howling puppy who no longer fits neatly onto a stair tread, so makes do using two per paw & mummy's legs for support; this really aids the "rest the knee" process.

It's "one of those days". Another one. Would go back to bed but can't face the bloody stairs yet again. It would honestly be easier living in a mobile home; you only have two steps up to the door. OK, they get blown away in hurricanes (well, mine did anyway) but i could live with that risk right now & usually are parked on a site so access to outside & other people to help out.

Yeughhhhh. Hope you are all having a better day. Don't worry, i will cheer up later or die in the process of trying to do so at least, which will solve my problems neatly. Meanwhile i am havingsmiley - redwine; bugger it.

And no, have NOT done any ironing!!!

I'll go shoot a few, or should I start breeding them?

Both options maybe. Select the finest male specimen (check it functions obviously, that will be fun) then shoot the rest of the males.

Put Super Duper Stud hampster to work & hopefully we get a whole new generation of hampsters. Make sure they are informed early there is NO social security system; so they have to w**k for a living. None of this "we are too busy" crap.

Here are some happy hampsters mating; this will encourage them:

I'm one of these people that runs 50 yards for the last bus, only to find out that that is as far as it's going.
I'm the sort of person who sits on the loo and finds only an empty cardboard tube...after I've been.
When they handed out brains they said do you want a brain or what? I mis heard and said what?

Just done massive training session: reinforcing:

SIT (no probs)

DOWN (he is getting there)

IN YOUR BED! (yup! understands)

DON'T BITE!!! (difficult: but now getting there)

VIEN!! (ie come here NOW)he is great at!smiley - applause

LEAVE IT! ie poor Yoda or an object i don't want destroyed like cusion orsmiley - yikescomputer. (he recognises the command but still defies at times)

STAY! he just can't/wont; maybe 'cos it conflicts with VIEN! so may have to be left till later.

It is exhausting, but necessary all this. Even if i have to let him go; at least he will have been taught basic manners.

zdt*& skanky chewing his chewy, both of us pretty exhausted*

My last dog was a border collie. She was very easy to train. She was very affectionate. I used to push her bottom down and say sit, and stay. And she would. Girl friend has a Yorkie,a furry rat, and this mongrel won't do a thing anyone tells it.
