Ooh, sounds absolutely wonderful!
Maybe someday you'll make your way around to these parts as well, eh?
And I would _love_ to come visit, I have always wanted to come back to Ireland, but to be honest I can't see that happening soon...

Hiya Terri and everyone else! This weekend I was off on a hike in the Wolkberg mountains. On the way there we drove past a place called 'Zion City Moria'! Every Easter, they hold a mass gathering there to listen to the main preacher of the 'Zion' Church. It may seem incredible but about 5 million people attend this 'sermon' every year! When we drove past the place, the cars buses were parked there in such numbers and proximity that it seemed you could walk around for miles just on the roofs of the buses, just stepping from the one to the other so close they were together!
Well our hike was in a place of wild rugged mountains just a short distance on from Zion City and it was very enjouyable! Very scenic with grasslands, forests, flowers, butterflies, and waterfalls.
Anyways. Terri I hope you enjoy that European tour! I think it would be wonderful when you and Yoda are reunited again!
Best wishes,
Willem

Happy Easter, everyone! Hope you all hd a lovely time today; hands up who ate too much ....I bought P a dark
organic eggy & made him a nest, with real egshells containing tiny
"from your nest-mates: Edda
, Fritz
& Terri"...he seemed delighted by this & it helped take his mind off the fact that during his Grand Spring Clear Up outside he had managed to tread on a long rusty nail, which went straight through the welly boot & into his foot, poor thing!
(I have been nagging him to get a tetanus jab)
This weekend has been quite busy, despite our intentions to actually treat it as "time off", yesterday we got the hired costumes back plus some liver fluke stuff for the;rather odd walking through a supermarket carrying that combination... P resurrected the windmill at the top of the hill (i eventually made it up there also
)...wonderful view! Planted some pansies, watched the birdies & Fritz enjoyed that also! We seem to have swallows nesting in the barn & loads of other LBJ's (little brown jobbies) as yet to be identified, the binoculars & bird books are out.Lots of
of various kinds (what a lucky man he is!
)
Today finally got round to sorting my room more, which of course also meant rearranging the kitchen.....
Ja, Milla, we definitely plan to take in Nordic regions ASAP, Lady P, Ivan, PC,JEllen, Willem etc will be on the World Tour, which may not be till next year though; depends a lot on the usual money stuff.
So: what have the rest of you been up to this Easter? And do any of you have Plans for holidays yet? (i think the last time i actually had a 'real' holiday, ie: not combined with w**k was around 20 years back!)

Not Easter, but Passover, over here... although I was planning to go check out what's happening on the Old City, this Sunday, figured it could be cool, but the roads were hell. Later I found out that it was because of a Jewish ceremony taking place at the Western Wall that day, called Birkat Kohanim (
basically, they go up there and pretty much do \\//_ 'Live Long And Prosper' _\\// - Leonard Nimoy stole that from us!). Ah well. There are the Orthodox churches' ceremonies next Sunday, but I'll miss those too, because I'm working.
Passover is quite nice, though. Some odd dietary restrictions, but it's not as bad as some people make it out to be.
Otherwise, those days since I finished with all my papers I've mainly been relaxing, hanging around downtown sometimes, cooking, reading, watching TV online... lovely!
Terry, could you drop me an email please? I'm not sure what your new email address is (same as the old one except on Gmail?), and would love to have your new home address, as I'm amassing some things I'd like to send you eventually.

Yes, Lady P, it's the same as the old one but with gmail dotcom; not
wanadoo!
Not sure which one is bestest of yours; so shall i wait for you to email me first? I'd love to see some more of your "treasures"; that goes for you also PC of course & look forward to actually getting time to convert them into cheeseboxes; honestly, anyone who dreams of "escaping the city ratrace for a quiet, tranquil life on a rural farm....basically hasn't ever actually done it!
Today's been lovely though, am sitting outside typing this in late evening sunshine (Shock! Horror: SUN in Oirland?), the dreaded Appeal form letter is written, new CV to back it up; wish me luck!
We have a BBQ on the go,veg kebabs, corn on the cob, veg croquettes, Sosmix...tomorrow we Deal With !

Hi Terri
I had a quiet Easter, where my sister came over the day and we watched some films on the television. I also went to visit my Mam.
I am on a course and it is a very stuffy building, even with the some of the windows which is leading some of the students talking to their imaginary friends, others are falling out their computers and having fights with their tables. Some are writing to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny and others are taking their imaginary dogs for a walk. Whilst others are pretending they are cats and dogs.
We were given a written task, what would you do with ten million pounds. My reply to the task would be to build an eco home and all the energy saving devices and products. Then produce a list of the products and their prices.

Good luck Terri with the appeal form and your CV.
The best thing about bbq are peppers that are barbequed and earting lots of garlicky potato salad with light olive sagey dressing.

Hi Terri!
I made banana pancakes this morning. Today is Record Store Day, a celebration of indie record shops, so this afternoon we're going to Planet of Sound, then K is spinning vinyl there tonight from 9-10. No idea what we'll do for dinner tonight, but tomorrow I am making Gumbo Z'herbes, which is a veggie gumbo made with lots of greens and Creole spices. I've got green kale and mustard greens. Yum!

Hiya all, am typing this in state of utter exhaustion at midnight, we've had Invasion of Teenage mutant Ninja Cattle; administering worming stuff, liver fluke stuff, hoof trimming, footbathing of & of course i manged to inject myself with the liver fluke stuff when trying to deal with the biggest
, which meant a Panic Call to
!!!!!
As usual; i seem to have survived so far.
Meanwhile, we have been putting finishing touches to the Appeal:
http://docs.google.com/ViewDoc?docid=dctjfzjq_2cjj47fhr
If that link works it will be a bloody miracle & i will say many Hail Mary's; the sodding thing has to get posted tomorrow morning latest, along with various French & other countries paperwork & revised C.V, 'tis a total nightmare; but once it's done possibly we can slightly relax & actually enjoy life ????
I have no clue as to how to edit the thing so as to remove actual names & addreses, so please be discreet in referring to this posting; but as part of the Appeal i mentioned hootoo, & know that even if both computers broke down, it's on here (Merci, BBC!)
Webbie; how lovely to get a direct email; i will reply ASAP
Great to see the rest of you seem to have had a relatively nice Easter/Passover (Lady P; can you explain what 'Passover' actually means please, my Biblical side seems to have desrted me somewhat!)
Meanwhile i am preparing curry & there is a strange insect buzzing above my head, the goat Molly hasn't had her feet done yet, 56 has a cough,
*number not noted* has a funny thing on her ear etc, the dishwashing needs to be done at night while there is still stored Solar Energy from today....Eco Rural Life is totally dependent on the weather!
The European Tour may have to be shortened, or be P without me, since i will have to be here to get decision for Appeal.....& attend A Hearing, Medical Panel etc. Total Pain in la derriƩre
:TR:BUM.Buttocks, bottom, rear end, for benefit of lurking Mods.
We shall see. We shall attempt to remain zen, not devil.Terri

Hi Anold! No idea how it all works, but P has some idea thankfully, the Appeal stuff is copied onto as many sites as possible via his camera card so that if they refuse me, i will take it first to the High Court of Ireland & then to the European Court of Human Rights.
At the same time i will spam every newspaper around; plus dear old BB Auntie, sit in the square here gathering signatures "Let Terri stay!" & generally become such a thorn in their side that it will be far easier to give me justice than see me as a victim.
They picked the wrong victim; Irish & Brummie is a combination; rather like a pit bull TERRIer!!!!!

with the appeal. I don't have a google account, so couldn't open the link. Can I send a paper signature somewhere?

Just added Milla, Thinker, Animal, Lil to access that document, anyone else who is interested please say, or i can copy & paste it to you via emaildirect, so long as i have your current email addy.
Today has been traumatic to say the least; started off with waken by Massive allergic reaction, hives/urticaria ie: big itchy bumps all over, followed by massive wheezing, followed by massive asthma attck & yet more coughing up blood. P got me to Doc,he'd never heard of the stuff, he prescribed Claritin, we meanwhile phoned National Poison Centre Ireland; they have little info on this drug "Deldrax" generic name is"nitroxynil";, i had another bout of blood coughing outside the Vet surgery who gave us this stuff (which P has never used before, normally liver flukes are treated by oral means, not injections)
Showed Vet nurse the bloody tissues i had coughed up so far, she panicked & rang the manufactures,Merial, France who said to me "this i is quite a dangerous product , not yet been tested for human accidental ingestion, may have long term effects especially in allergic people, if you get fever or local swelling, inform Dr immediately, but basically we really don't know, so please keep us informed of the effects on you."
So it seems i am part of a 1st stage Clinical Trial. With no consent, no package insert, no warnings or advice as to what to do in case of adverse effects. WONDERFUL!
Just what we neede whilst racing around trying to get the Disability Appeal copied, posted etc.
Once the Appeal was in the post, managed to relax a bit & bleeding slowed down, had a snooze, woke up & back to square one re:bleeding, plus added bonus of (hopefully temporary since it seems OK ish now) vison problems, ranging from complete blindness to sensitivity to any light, to black spots, totally unpredictable.
I really don't know, nor does anyone else it seems, whether this reaction is due to general stress, usual asthma stuff, an insect bite (midges have arrived!) or the toxic chemical. Or a combination of all??
Whatever, i will (if i can see) be finding out as much as possible about the drug & would ask the rest of you with any knowledge to do likewise & AVOID IT like the plague meanwhile!!!! (please pass that onto any farmer you may know; it's used to treat/prevent liver fluke in sheep & cattle)
The seem to be OK, so presumably they did animal testing, but not humans!
Ye gods, whatever next????*
*Prize for most imaginative answer*
