Morning all, chipper?
Pat, I see Leeds' resident racist hooligan is on his way down to you. Sort him out.
Ho hum, another day, more war talk. Makes me want a fight myself. <>

Anyone else around this morning, or have I become persona non grata for using the phrase "weekend warrior"?
Just me then.
Chipper Pat?
Not too bad ta: enjoying the snow.
Wakey wakey everyone.

Morning Doc: my last post looks a bit silly now in context, but heigh-ho. Very chipper thanks: bracing cycle through the snow this morning and now wrapped up toastie as you like.
Bowyer's a toughie: can a leopard change its spots? If so, I'm hoping he has: if not, why did I bother getting into an argument about racism on New Year's Eve, and why do we bother trying to explain to anyone why racism is irrational and wrong?

hi pat, that was a ruddy big snowball mate, the whole house surrounded with it this morning.
i had to laugh at the price west ham are paying too, not sure if 250,000 or what but know well under a million. oh well, him and paolo should liven things up one way or another. watching with interest pat, and it could keep on getting better.
doc, have a nice cup of tea and let someone give you a rl hug. let them cheer you up.
then remember one's time when at w**k is for playing and high jinks.

Morning all.
A bit snowey here in Essex today. Yuck! I can't stand snow.
Bowyer for 250K looks a bargain - I'm sure Roeder will be man enough to keep him under control

Doctor Strangegloves Posted Jan 7, 2003
Shrewsbury? Isn't that the quaint little team that has a man in a coracle to fish the ball out of the nearby River Severn?
Stop the War!

Morning all
Hi kris. Nice to be missed! I've been around in bits and pieces over the last couple of weeks. I've been mostly on the Radio 4 message boards because 5Live got a bit boring and no one seemed to be around h2g2 much.
Also we had a death in the family which threw things into a bit of confusion ( and lowered my humour quotient considerably, obviously ).
Thanx for the health tips. As it happens I'm feeling a great deal better today. I don't get out of the house much so when I have visitors they bring all the germs in that I'm not prepared for!
Time for a wander around the boards. CU all back here later.
No-one mention shrews to worms either?

Fuppin' w**k! It's killing me ... Well, not quite.
Anyone seen our favourite bigots yet? No ian johnston, no peter pooter! What's going on? I did not see any descenting voices from the Channel 4 Rory Bremner thread either!! Talk about boring?
Sorry to hear of your bereavment Peter. Hope you can force a smile out soon mate!!

Ditto, Pete. Always seems crueller at Christmas.
Ian Johnston was on ...af yesterday chuntering on about beans. Peter pooter has disappeared - he was Dickie Twaddle-Bottom for a while. Unfortunately Pooter is a bit thick and can always be relied upon to draw attention to himself - referring back to jokes only he found funny, etc. So perhaps he's chucked in the towel. A more entertaining thought is that good ol' Pete has come out in a big way and is currently making the beast with two backs with a strapping six footer called Vyvyan. Actually no, I've just been sick, perhaps that wasn't such a nice idea after all.

V Max Posted Jan 7, 2003
Bushy,
Last time I saw Johnston posting Eddie Crane was making a total monkey out of him over whether the Yemen gunman was Palestinian or not!

Peter,
Sorry to hear that, and at Christmas too. Poor old you. Hope we can cheer you up a bit.

Anyone understand Wendy's "Phoenix Nights" posting? Mad as cheese.
I wonder what her teddy bear's name might be? "Yasser", probably. We could turn this into some sort of competition, maybe?

I thought Brian Potter was in "Phoenix Nights"?
Put big light on will ya V Max! Thanks ...

Doctor Strangegloves Posted Jan 7, 2003
Eddie Crane is a top bloke, 'nuff respect. Johnston hasn't been the same since the "Black Knight" episode before Christmas, although I'm sure he'll be back in force some time soon.
Got one!!

Bushy - why did you choose Bushwhack'd (2) as your new moniker?
And how do I work these b***dy smilies, someone?

V Max Posted Jan 7, 2003
Doc,
Smilies - Start a new posting. Put < wah > without the spaces before w and after h, then preview message. You should see a Crying Smiley in your preview. Click on this and you will be taken to a page showing all the symbols and their shortcuts.
Peter showed me how to do this a while back.
