I agree, I don't know what the critics said but I also thought it was above average and very effective. And even tho it was developed in the mid nineteys and released early in 2001, reflects a twisted but accurate picture of current american culture.

Well, the films I saw this year that I liked were well, here goes:
Farenheit 9/11
Saw (creepy twist the plot was okay too)
Meet The Fockers was really good I enjoyed it
I Shout Love (good luck finding it, it's an indie film and I think you would have to actually order it to find it)
That's really about it for me, I don't watch many films or much tv anymore. The news is just too damn depressing.

Fahrenheit 9/11 would be better if it wasn't such outright propaganda...I mean he got pretty desperate trying to pull your hearstrings with all them crying women screaming for God to help them and stuff...that was just annoying.

No it wasn't. Yes, Michael Moore can be a self-righteous, self-serving self-promoter with a bias and be manipulative... But frankly "outright propaganda" the film was not.

Are you kidding? When someone takes the facts he needs and uses them to convince people of something, that's propaganda, doesn't matter if the cause or goal (of getting rid of George jr) is just, propaganda is propaganda.
The best movie I've seen recently is "The Song Remains the Same", the Led Zeppelin live movie, good stuff. The songs get lengthened and jammed out, always good, plus those fantasy sequences are pretty cool.
Also "The Life Aquatic". So funny and sad at the same time, Bill Murray is so great...the soundtrack is mostly this guy singing Bowie songs in Spanish with an acoustic guitar. It's hard to describe this movie, it's so quirky and dynamic, you never know what'll happen next.
