Hello
I remember revision hell - many years ago and happily just a dim and dusty memory now.
The five day break was most welcome. Did some pottering about, wrote some stuff, did little else on Thursday/Friday. Had a picnic (albeit in doors since the weather was really miserable on Thursday evening) for my birthday which Fi's mum made - salmon, strawberry's coated with white chocolate, champagne - mmmm. Fi cooked me a birthday - first one I've had in years!
The weekend was busy though - wedding stuff and family to see.
I hope you are well and you're brain isn't overloading too much with all that revision.
"Talk" soon - take care.
Wulfric

Heya,
Still busy busy busy.... Argh! I think some vital but old stuff is being pushed out of my brain every time I learn something new... Seem to be loosing communication skills....
Will write properly when my exams are over.
Hope you are well and happy

Hi Siren
Yes, I'm well and happy. Hope you are.
How long till your exams? I must admit to not missing it at all - all that revising, headaches trying to cram as much knowledge into the brain as possible, etc.
Problem for me was that exams were always in the summer at the height of hayfever season - and did I get hayfever! Ended up that I couldn't see the exam papers.
I'll skip the German for now until your exams are over - it'll save taxing you whilst you have so much other stuff going on.
"Talk soon", take care
Guten Tag :)

Hello,
Never mind, it will soon all be over
I would have replied sooner but I've been messing around with my intro page thingy trying to make it look a bit better. It does, slightly, perhaps?
When are the last of your exams?
Take care,
Wulfric
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted May 26, 2003
It does look better, it looks fantastic and puts mine to shame.... Damn you!
Strip scrabble??!!! new one on me.... *shakes head* what will young love birds come up with next?.....
Anyways, exams are done on the 3:00pm 31st May, so I will be exceedingly drunk by 3:30pm. Not through volume, but just through me being such a light weight these days.... It's one of the down-sides to owning a car.... Seems they won't actually let you indulge in alcoholic beverages and then transport yourself home rather than pay extortionate taxi prices... Apparently we pose a danger to the public.... Easily solved though, get pedestrians to walk on the road! All the drunkards will be on the pavements - problem solved!
Seriously though, I never have more than a pint of handy if I'm driving, so I'm going to be absolutely bladdered when my exams are done. Oh ek....
And so I shall stop waffling, take care, hope wedding plans are going swimmingly....
*hug*
Be well,
Siren

Hi Siren
Glad you like the intro thingy. It took me ages to work out what I was doing and even now I'm still not sure!!
Strip scrabble is a fun game. Well worth trying at some point. It all depends on the amount of points you score. "Young love birds"?? Us? Young? Perhaps moderately so, but also technically at the beginning of middle age as well - shock horror! In our 30's.
Yes, not being able to drink properly when driving is a bother. But I have found that once in a relationship plus all your friends being married with children also puts a crimp on social drinking. It just doesn't happen anymore. Still, that's the wonderful thing about life - times and circumstances change and you find that you don't really miss the drinking that much. You adjust.
At least there isn't much longer to go with the exams. I hope they are going well and you don't find them too much trouble.
The wedding plans are proceeding as expected with only a slight amount of stress (also as expected). I will be glad when it's all over, though.
*Hugs* for you too.
Take care.
Wulfric
PS. There nothing wrong with waffling it the person being waffled to doesn't mind.
PPS. I don't mind.
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted May 28, 2003
Hmmm, I think I may skip on the strip scrabble thing, I'm not very good at scrabble, I always lose... Think I may stick to the traditional strip poker
As for the young thing, you only get old when you hit your 40's, cos then its parent age... As in the age you best remember your parents. It's the general rule of thumb...
Adjust to no alcohol????? Me? never! I think drinking just moves, from the pub to your house!
Exams have been not to bad so far thank you, I have two days to revise for two exams... something tells me that's not good... heh, oh well...
Hope your wedding plans keep down to minimum stress, I've seen lots of people get soooo uptight with weddings, for just one day it doesn't half sound a load of bother... But I'm sure you got it all under control
I'm glad you don't mind waffling, cos there's nothing I do better!
Well, take care, be well
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Jun 9, 2003
Hi there
How do you think you did in the exams? I hope you didn't celebrate too hard
I hope life is going well for you at the moment post-exam.
The wedding is not only two and a half weeks away and I still feel cool about it, although that will change no doubt the closer it gets. I ought to think about writing my speech at some point.
This is only a quickie! Don't have much time at the moment to get on H2G2, alas.
I look forward to your next waffle

Meine Exams sehr schlecht und schwierig war.
Denke mich meine results ganz schlect also.
My brain is way too fried to be trying german, I will read over my old notes later and try to get back into it... heh.
My exams were quite nasty actually.... But I seem to have gone past the point of caring... I had a migraine in my last one... Not nice Felt v sick, my writing hand went numb and my head split open I'm sure of it!
So I think the best I can hope for is a 2:2 now, but I don't mind really, obviously a 2:1 would be great, but whatever happens I still get to write BSc after my name!
Heh speech preparation is a very good idea. My boyfriend was best man at a wedding, didn't make a speech, thinking he could do it straight off the top of his head.... He did very well I thought, but after the groom's speech his seemed quite short. So... Oh! And jokes, lots of jokes! Everyone loves 'em, unless they have no sense of humour...
I haven't celebrated much yet, have had a stinkin cold type flu thing for the past week or something... So alas, no booze. But am going out tomorrow, but am driving! ARGH! Oh well, I can always drink at home!
Anyways, hope you are well and happy etc
If I don't speak to you before, have an amazing day at your wedding and best of luck and wishes to the both of you
Take care, be well,
Siren

Just a quick one....
Had my provisional results.... I got a 2.2, yay! Not bad, not bad I suppose.... As most people dont't get first's (cos that's an elitist degree, you have to have no life or just be one big brain....) I'm counting my degree as a kinda "B" grade...
Anyhoo, just had to share my relief at finally becoming a graduand! Roll on graduation!
Be well
Siren

Wulfric Posted Jun 16, 2003
Congratulations Siren
I bet that's a huge wave of relief washing over you now that's it's all over and the results are in.
Good stuff .
The Big Questions is: What now??
Wulfie
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Jun 22, 2003
Danke sehr!
Huge relief oh yes! Heh. Big question has a big question mark hanging over it. I have a summer job in uni for 2 months... Hopefully anyway.... Then I plan to get a job for a year to get enough money together to go for a masters in analytical chemistry, which I can then use to get a more permenant job... Whether things actually go according to plan is another matter....
I also plan to go to evening classes for my german. Perhaps even get a gcse in it... Maybe then I can construct better sentences than
"Hallo. Ich heisse Kate. Ich komme aus Wales. Ich sprechen nur ein bischen Deutsch. Heute, es ist sehr heiss. Ich liebe gern kunst." etc etc etc...
I bet that was all spellt atrociously (and I have no idea how to spell attrociously...)
Oh well, I think it's too late to care and I'm off!
Take care, be well
Siren
Aka The Waffler!
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Jun 23, 2003
Hallo Siren, or The Waffler .
Analytische Chemie? Töne sehr schwierig und Gehirn, das zu mir sich auflöst!
Evening classes are great because they can have a brilliant social life!! Maybe not the best reasons for going but certainly a useful little bonus .
Only one spelling mistake - bischen = bißchen (or bisschen), "a little".
Well, I'll have to go myself soon, so catch you later,
take care,
W
