Oh, I wouldn't worry about it.
No need to feel stooopid!
Until I've had two cups of tea or coffee I'm not capable of anything remotely human!
There's nothing wrong with laziness every so often. It's good for the soul to be able to splurge for a day or two. Just watch life drift by with a drink in your hand and your feet up.
Besonders an einem schönen sonnigen Tag. (Especially on a beautiful sunny day).
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 24, 2003
I would normally agree with you on the whole laziness thing, but I seem to be getting lazier and lazier... Even when it's not a beautiful sunny day...
I may aswell just hang upside down from trees and move really slowly and call myself a sloth! Cos that's the way I'm heading!! not good, they stink!
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Mar 24, 2003
Ah, we all go through stages like that when things seem to wind down and you think to yourself, "Oh, I can't be bothered." It doesn't normally last very long.
I always looked upon it like this. It's the mind's way of telling you that you need to relax and take things easy. If you really really need to do things then the motivation will come. It's a simple (if somewhat flawed) theory but one I always found to work.
Guten Tag :)

Some more phrases for you, Siren.
And you call this a what? Und Sie nennen dieses, was?
Don't Panic! Versetzen Sie Nicht!
They simply vanished into the night. Sie verschwanden einfach in die
Nacht.
I love you and want to have your babies! Ich liebe dich und möchte
Ihre Babys haben!
I think this might be it. Ich denke, daß dieses sei es konnte.
Wait! This might be dangerous. Wartezeit! Dieses konnte gefährlich
sein.
Suddenly work catches up and I shall have to log off again. Never mind, I'll do some more tomorrow.

Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 27, 2003
Thankies... very bizarre phrases which I hope I'll not have to use in Germany if I ever go there on holiday again!
Wartezeit! Dieses konnte gefährlich
sein.... Doesn't sound too good if you're meant to be unwinding by a pool.....
I'm going to have to put all these phrases in a word document or something, it's starting to be a pain to keep scrolling back through the conversation to get bits I want, better to have them all in one place methinks...
You had a good week so far?
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Mar 27, 2003
Hallo Siren,

Einige der Phrasen sind seltsam. (Some of the phrases are bizarre). The problem is trying to think of things to write - it's amazing how the mind goes blank when trying to write ordinary common phrases down. It's probably age
Ich bin froh, wenn es das Wochenende ist. (I'll be glad when it is the weekend).

(Yes - busy weekend for us. We have to go into town to buy wedding rings. Also have to go into Debenhams to do our gift list.)
I think Sunday is lie-in day! And household chores .
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 27, 2003

Unless you have to get up to be in the pool for adults only hour... no screaming brats... lovely but early... Can't chores wait til... say... next weekend
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Mar 27, 2003
Yes, we saw some a couple of weeks ago. Two-tone gold, Celtic knotty type. His and hers, aaawww nice .
Don't swim, myself - not very good at it. Excellent at sinking though
Chores - bleugh! We've put it off for over a week already and I suppose we ought to get it done.
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 27, 2003
They sound really pretty... aww blessis... Congrats by the by...
so sweet!
Heh heh you don't need to be good at swimming to go, just jump around and splash in the water like a big kid - great fun sinking has its advantages though, like when you spot someone you don't like and you're trying to hide from them... I have a habit of floating face down in the water when trying to sink, which generally attracts shed loads of attention, particularly from stupid people who think I've drowned.... Duh!
As for chores, try doing them to music, I find it always helps with stuff, particularly ironing and dusting.... Ugh. 'orrible...
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Mar 27, 2003
Many thanks.
I must admit that I don't like swimming much . Much prefer lounging around with a I suppose most people think it's an odd thing to do! But as you say, people are stupid (most of them).
I have tried doing housework with music, but I still get bored senseless doing it - especially ironing. I can always think of something I would rather being doing instead - writing, reading, sleeping, etc.

Hello,
"Es ist ehr schlecht" - It is bad honour?
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 28, 2003
I missed the 's' off sehr... whoops... typos are so much worse in german! They change whole words!!!!
Nur 5 uhr? Wooo hoo!
Ich habe "erinnere" nicht verstehen, was ist das bitte?
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Mar 28, 2003
"erinnere" is "remember"
Typos are hideous. They are even worse in Japanese .
Konogoro ha, dandan to atatakaku natsute kimashita. Haru ha sokomade kiteiru yo desu. (The weather is getting warmer and warmer. Spring seems to be around the corner).
Now I'm just showing off.
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 28, 2003
Rydw i'n cytuno, yn iawn!
I agree, alot.
Typos are bad enough at the best of times... but when in foreign languages you run the risk of telling someone their mum looks like a pauper's dog instead of vision of beauty...
Guten Tag :)
Wulfric Posted Mar 28, 2003
"Rydw i'n cytuno, yn iawn!"
To the untutored eye it looks sort of Welsh or something. What does it mean? Or is it some devillishly complex code!?!
The problem exists with pronunciation as well. If you say the Japanese word Hashi it mean Chopstick, but if you say it Hashee it means Bridge, a third way means something else ... it's all too confusing.
Happily German isn't the worst and most Germans will get the gist of your conversation.
Guten Tag :)
Siren Of The Black Posted Mar 28, 2003
Well done it is welsh It means, I agree, alot referring to you showing off... I don't know how accurate it is, because although I am welsh, I can't speak it fluently and only got to GCSE with it... I'd like to go further, but don't have the time to learn at the moment.
Japanese sounds waaaaaay too complicated for me thank you. when I was in school I found german quite easy, it was just the der, die, das, mein, meine, meinen that confused me
Key: Complain about this post
Guten Tag :)
