Our old guini-pig used to be very aware of when we came down from the top of the garden, never on the way up, just on the way back, and boy were you in trouble if you didn't have any dandylions for him

I remember when we fist got him and how my mum told me that every time I took him out of the cage I had to give him a treat, a piece of cucumber or carrot or something so that he associated coming out of the cage with good things and he would be happier to be picked up!

I love childhood memories like that

My first piar of guinea pigs were adorable. Humbug was a softy, and a great Mum; whilst Polo (Polly) was a character and a half. She had a few brain cells missing, but she'd come when called and chunter and chatter away at full volume for hours.......

Yes, memories are very special.

You lot think I'm joking!!! Well I am not!!

She will be round here using up my tissues, soggying my shoulder and starting off my arthritis. Giving me a headache, because I would never understand how much she loved that bike!!

Throwing her arms around my neck and making it crack... PAINFULLY... then she will again as she rubs in the Ibugel.. and I set up the TENs Machine!!

He's had the computer available all evening if he wanted it; I've just got in from the second dress rehearsal of the show. It's opening night tomorrow!!!! and I still haven't got any costume for three scenes.

looks like I'll be busy sewing at some point tomorrow.

Anyway, I only chucked him off earlier 'cos I heard about the pitter patter of tiny feet.

That's fine, as long as I am not asked to look after them!

We used to get stuck with the school guinea pig because E was the only one that could get near it!... I was petrified that it would die on us before the summer hols was over. One time, we could not look after it because we were going away... and it died... Oh! I felt so mean!! I had become attached to the damned thing anyway!

Right, now he's for it!!!

Now for the sad news.

Tonight, Milly and Twink had to go back to the pet shop. They've developed problems with their eyes, which we feel is not our responsibility to fix. They've taken them back and told us that it should take about a week or so to put right. G pondered the thought of going back there next week to see if they were back in the run, but I said No. They've gone and that's it. It would be heartbreaking to go back there next week and find that either something has happened to them, or they've been sold to someone else, or only one is left.

So G is cleaning out the Hutch as we speak, and we're putting it in the shed for now. We might get some more little pigs in a couple of weeks, once we've got over this. We got so attached to them.

I'm not sure if I want any others now.
