h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I came home from work yesterday to be greeted by G outside.

G The dog collapsed today

VV Is he ok?

G He is now.

VV What happened?

G I went into the kitchen and I could smell wee. I couldn't find where it was coming from. I looked at the dog and he seemed 'odd'.

VV In what way?

G He wasn't holding his head quite right. He just seemed odd. He wasn't panting or anything and he wasn't wagging his tail.

VV What did you do?

G First of all I tried to get him to move and he wouldn't. I tried to stand him up but he just couldn't. I got a towel and soaked it and wrapped it round his head just in case it was some kind of heat exhaustion.

VV But the kitchen is a cool place. He shouldn't be hot in there. Especially with the flooring.

G I know. Anyway, after applying the third wet towel around his head, he got up as if nothing had happened. I've cleaned up the wee and washed the dog down because he was lay in it. That's why I couldn't see it.

VV Do you think he's had a funny turn and wee'd because of it.

G Yes

VV Do you think it's this laryngyal paralysis the vet was going on about.

G No, because he wasn't making that noise the vet told us to look out for.

VV What do you think it was then?

G It could be a number of things. He might have had some kind of stroke, it could be a fit of some kind, or perhaps he's got something in his brain...like a tumour or something.

VV What are we going to do?

G Well, he's fine now. He's due for his kennel cough vaccination in a few weeks so I'll speak to the vet about it then.

Meanwhile, Murray the rolled over and was showing me his belly. I gave him a tum fuss whilst he was giving me sly licks on my other hand. Bless.

aaaww...keep an extra eyes on him, but I do not have say that.

Poor little blighter.

I'm one with animal's, they can't say I've got headache etc. Hope it is nothing as such VV and that its just the humidity, we're all feeling it

VV, is he an old dog ?

He will be 8 in November, so he's middle aged, although he still acts like a puppy.

only a kid at heartvet costs are beyond a joke though, my mam with her cat, wow! just for tablets

Hope dog is ok and it ain't as worrisome as it sounds.
