I think it's only €25,- for the maximum distance here.

Exeter to Londond, without a travel card, is about 40 or 45 pounds...tis ridiculous. Luckily I can still get my dad to pay for me.

Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ? Posted Mar 17, 2004
Well, this is why living in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and having this magical thing called a yearly concession card and metcard which works on all zone 1 2 and 3 public transport (but not things like V-line which go out of the zones and have different tickets) that was payed for by your parents is so good for travel
Also, pocket money is a brilliant invention, and so is this thing called 'being payed on time' which my parents don't seem to have gotten the hang of yet... But they do also pay for lots of other stuff
And, I nearly got $300 a year for this scholarship thingy from the City Council, but I had a migraine on the day I was going to be told about ti and would have had to write an essay for it so I didn't get to go for it My friend Jo got it though

Train companies - if you book about a month in advance, and especially if you have a railcard, it's dead cheap: I got a weekend return from Manchester to Edinburgh once for £1.50, and its usually about £20 for a week's return from London to Manchester... book the night before, and they charge you £150 to stand in an overcrowded carriage full of other mugs who waited 'til the last minute like you did.
Pocket money - yes, a great invention. Why can't I have it?

Joe you must have been on a train that wasn't very popular to begin with... like trying to book to kilmarnock... the cheap tickets had almost all gone so I have ended up with a 10 day stay next month I just hope Anthea doesn't hate me
