Today I've done some essay research, but not as much as I should have. This evening I went to the concert hall to watch Hayden's The Seasons whic was very good but *so* long.

Pity I didn't know about that I would have gone, then again myabe two long classical things in a week is a bit much (I went to The Messiah on sunday might have already mentioned that). Can't believe it is nearly week 9.

Tell me about it. Was the Messiah good? (There are lots of advantages to having a music student as a friend - ie. you hear about performances).

I went home because it was on at Tod. It is something of a family tradition. My Grandad used to conduct it and since he died we get some free seats. Well would do if we wanted them. We make a donation to the Tod choral society for the seats we use anyway as if we had paid for them.
This year it was very good. The Seprano and the Bass were very good. Though the enor was a bit off it (always seemed to be a bit flat) and the Alto didn't seem to enjoy it. The choir was abosutly brilliant best I have heard them.
You ever heard it? My favourite bit is 'Why do the nations?' which is sung by the bass soloist so it was better than normal.

What did you think of the four seasons. Would you mind letting me know what music stuff is going on? I will probably go to some of it.

When I said Tod. I meant Todmerdon. A town near us. I'm pretty bad when it comes to abreviating stuff.

You done much recently besides that?
I have had quite a lot of work.

The Seasons was good, but very sleep inducing, which was odd because it was an excellent production. Can't tell you what's on I'm afraid, I don't have a list and Kellie's not here. Check in the music department or ask Ben or Matt.
As for doing much - not really, no. I went to town on Sunday, to St Nicholas' Fayre, which was good, got a few Christmas presents. I've also found an MP3 player that I REALLY want.

If you find out anything that is going on just say, I keep forgetting. Don't worry about it though.

That's cool. There's a performance tonight I'm going to, the University choir in Central Hall at 7.30.
Been doing my essay, just gone to the Borthwick Institute for a session on documents to e told its actually next week. Still, it's only about 3 minutes walk or so.

It would have been nice to go to that concert but I am struggling to get through my weekly problems. I missed an abvious trick so spent 1 hour doing a 10 minute question. I'm having a break then it is back to work.

I've just realised how long the backlog for this convo is - we've done well!

sigsfried Posted Dec 12, 2005
Yeah it is long.
This term does seem to have gone really quickly.
Did you enjoy the christmas party on Saturday?
York Uni.
Elentari Posted Dec 13, 2005
Very much, yes. Excellent food, especially the stuffing. Liz has got the pictures up on her msn space - the address is on the wall in one of the middle A kitchens.
Going to the Xmas Ball?

Yep - it'll be a great night. The Merchant Adventurer's Hall is lovely - we went there for history and I worte an entry on it. It was a bit bizarre, actually. We had a tour in the first hour then just sat in the Great Hall having our discussion group, with random tourists milling around.
