Went to the pain specialist today. He agrees that I have RSD. He wants me to get a "triple phase bone scan", which apparently involves injecting my arm with radioactive dye, then scanning to see where the dye goes. I believe I've already mentioned my fear of needles, so you can guess just how thrilled I am about that.
He also put me on Tizanidine, a muscle relaxant, on top of the Neurontin and Darvocet. I'm going to wind up addicted to prescription meds at the rate I'm going Anyway, that's the latest. Don't know when I can get the test done, will contact the hospital tomorrow.
Sorry I haven't been online more lately, I miss talking to everybody, just haven't been up to it. Take care, talk soon...

We miss you too.
I'm sorry, that things aren't getting better for you. Will the new medication make it easier to work, or do you have to take a leave of absence?

Hi guys, thanks for the good wishes!
Went in to the hospital this morning, got the test scheduled for tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
Went to work for a couple of hours, but the new combo of meds has got me pretty wasted. Took the afternoon off. Hopefully I'll adjust within a few days, like I have the last couple of times. Gotta wonder just how many drugs I can take and still function; guess I'm gonna find out

Well, here's hoping that the 'finding out' doesn't put you through too many changes Ranger ...or like you mentioned, get you addicted to any of that stuff.

Well, asaide from a little crack on the forehead that'll probably leave a scar reminiscent of Mikhail Gorbachev' birthmark, not bad...was a little tempted to see if it needs a couple stitches...but, nah...

Ouch, that sounds like no fun! You're not supposed to beat your head against a brick wall for THAT long!
My one bright spot here lately was having company last weekend. Some friends came over, we spent a couple of days eating, drinking, and being merry
Other than that, it's just been work, and dealing with the arm.

Ah, sustenance! Always good!
Well, Tues. night was their jam session at the club & since its usually the sme crowd behind the scenes at that, it went real well... few with the guys afterward.
Then just yesterday, was out with a handicapped friend at a local mall. He's in an electric wheelchair & malls are ususlly very wheelchair accessable, so we get together once in awhile for lunch & a & all that.

On the positive side, if they know what the problem is, there's a better chance that they can fix it, right ?
I will light a candle for you, dear...good luck !

WR, I am glad to hear you were socializing and not hiding.
Jazz, I hope your wound heals quickly and doesn't leave the kind of scar you are expecting.

Evangeline? you'd be the one to as about minimizing scarring...I've got some water soluble vitamin E capsules & some vitamin A cream. Any other recommendations?

Oh, just remembered, I also have some very old Aloe Vera gel.

Aloe is soothing and moisturizing, would suggest a fresh bottle and keep it refrigerated after opening. Vitamins A, E, and C internally help skin rejuvenate. Vitamins A and E can be used topically to keep the skin moisturized so it can heal evenly, minimizing the scar.
There are one or two other suggestions, depending on the size of wound and proximity to your eyes or scalp. They aren't for the faint hearted, though.
