viruses, if you understand them biologically, are devastating. Therefore, I don't think one would willingly wish to be such.

viruses are neither dead nor alive and propogate by invading and altering the unwitting, unwilling host cell's dna. viruses appear almost robotic in their efficency and have only one 'goal' assimilation and propogation, ad infinitum.

at least that, as I understand it, is the extent of our biological knowledge thus far...

I've been tinkering with my resume, sending feelers hither and yon, and even did a few hours worth of work ... need to make it a regular, healthy flow.

I've worked on the design of stadia, on visualizing concepts in graphic form - without the use of computers, on construction documents for high rise office buildings, on concepts for urban villages, on writing guidelines for the development of housing, on providing information - as opposed to advertising, plain and simple - in the public right of way, on the use of considerate redevelopment in decayed areas, on the thoughtful expansion of institutional campii, on advocacy for projects, on negotiating agreements, on regulating budgets, on treating people as worthy human beings ...

I was trained as an architect, a designer, a planner but life has taken me on a unique path. As long as what I do can provide sustanance for those I am responsible and give at least some meaning to being here and now and I can do so in a way that will cause no harm or injury, it matters what prefix or suffix is applied to my name, even if such may be cause for happiness and for satisfaction.

come to think of it the only reason a suffix or prefix might be appended to my name to help the person I am conversing with to fix me some sort of context with the help of their schema. that is probably the extent of the utility of such trappings, otherwise these are entirely superfluous and, indeed, matter but little if at all.

There was maybe 30 years ago a plan for adapting the Pawnee earthlodge to apartment buildings. I don't think it ever got off the ground but I don't know. Are you familiar with it?

Each floor was built around a central common area where the cooking, washing, childcare or whatever were to be done and the individual apartments that were arranged radially around the common area were mainly for sleeping or private conversation.

tell me more, I need to see something. I can't remember off hand but if I see more I might remember. I like the virtual image in my mind of the Pawnee earthlodge, it is elegent. I wonder how the idea of apartment building could jive with an idea so radically different from the earthlodge. The only modern building that comes to mind that is even remotely along the same manner of thought as that of the Pawnee is "international house" in Philadelphia. One night, one of the first nights I was in that city, I found I could not get into the place I was suppossed to go to, to sleep, so wound up there for the night. in those days it was an expensive proposition for me though relatively inexpensive it might have been to many others. the arrangement of the sleeping areas, the common areas, and the even more common areas was similar to what you've described except that there was a vertical element as well that lead to a bit of disjointing....
