Bush on a Sidewalk is worth two in an SUV

Yeah, that title confused me too. Don't worry about it.
It's President Bush's birthday today. And he went on a bike ride in Scotland - resulting in a crash, in which he ran into a policeman. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4658327.stm
No, he didn't manage to bang up a terrist... or even a Frenchman for that matter (he dislikes them, not me). Just a policeman He then proceeded to drive off in an SUV.
If you'd like to wish President Bush a happy birthday and remind him of his 'legacy', please sign the Bush birthday card, courtsey of the Democratic National Committee http://www.democrats.org/page/petition/bushbirthdaycard
Also, celebrate by becoming an <./>UnderGuide</.> miner at A1092494. Tell 'em the sheep sent you.

I had to laugh when they read this out on the BBC, newsreader said they don't have details on the coppers injuries, but Bush hurt his ankle
Aww pair wee diddums
Next G8 should be in China, and I'm sure the British taxpayer will funs the protesters fares.

Dearie. Can you imagine Bush trying to Texas his way through the streets of Beijing? There would be fatalities!
"Chee-naw! Hi-chee! Move it, POTUS comin' through. Ahh! POTUS down! The eagle is down! Call poppa!"

Another chance for Americans to be embarrassed and the rest of the world to be amused.
I guess this must be how the Ukers felt when Prince Charles fell off of his polo pony.

Hell, I'm not embarrassed, I'm amused
Like when he choked on a pretzel.
By the way, this exact same thing happened on the very first episode of the West Wing. President Josiah Bartlet fell off his bike and I think the press secretary (an Ohioan) had a hard time explaining it to the reporters.

You are apparently less sensitive than I am. I find any occassion that calls attention to the fact that we elected this man - twice - embarrassing.
I blame Ohio for it.

In a rare twist, so do I. It's Ohio's fault. Missouri didn't help either, though, you know Nor your former home of Texas. If we hadn't admitted Texas to the union, we wouldn't even be in this mess.
(Or actually, Connecticut. He was born in New Haven, right?)
I do like when attention is called to the fact that he's really just a smirking chimp.

There is one thing about him - he makes even my relatives look good.
No, it's Ohio's fault. Remember how you kept reminding me that Ohio was the ONLY state whose election results mattered? So, I blame Ohio in general and you in particular.

You have a point there.
It's not Ohio's fault just because it is the most important state ever. We could've swung, oh... Texas, maybe. And Bush II's state down there, you know...
Which reminds me, I depart for Florida (yes again) sometime soon.

Wisconsin cast its electoral votes for the Democrats...twice, so we are to be held blameless in all matters relating to domestic and foreign policy. He did steal our governor though and now the place is going to the dogs

Ohio's governor has ethics problems and has the lowest approval ratings of any governor... so we're screwed there too.
On the plus side! I heard somewhere that the Dems hold slightly more seats in state legislatures than the Republicans.

Our governor is a twit. I can't stand him.
What are you going to do in Florida? Business or pleasure?

Family... so, neither
According to http://www.surveyusa.com/50governorsrated051005.htm Ohio has the lowest approved governor. Missouri is third. Wisconsin is about 15 from the bottom.
(that poll and the one with senators kept me entertained for hours, like a kid with a new toy...)

Neat survey. Spynxx, you win for having only a moderately disagreeable governor.
I sooooooooooooo hope our wonderboy isn't reelected. I just know he wants to run for the Senate and then for President. Or, hell, his ego is so enormous, he'll probably run for President from the governor's mansion. He has to outdo his daddy.

Scandrea - just remember he isn't running again. Make it your mantra. Repeat it in meditation hummmmtaftisn'trunningagainmmmmmmmmm
Governors have a better chance of getting elected President than Senators. But every Senator in DC wants to be President and thinks they can be... unless they've been indicted for something or other. I never understood that.
Ohio's Senators have been very interesting lately. DeWine was in on the Filibuster deal and Voinovich held up Bolton's approval as UN ambassador. They've been relatively good boys this year.

You should know better! When a politician is behaving it's only as a smoke screen for some truly heinous activities behind the sceens.
"I went back to Ohio, but my city was gone" could be phopetic words indeed! Better check in daily while in Florida for safty's sake

Jeez, the way some of these Ohio politicians are behaving, I'm afraid of what's behind the scenes.
I hope Mark Twain's "When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it's always twenty years behind the times." aren't prophetic
Gosh, I wish I could check in daily in Florida... doubt I'll have internet down there. The last time I went, I thought I would have internet, but nope. Nada. Nuffink.

I just read from a blogger covering the G8 that the sidewalks were soaking wet up there, and were while Bush took his little ride.
Ok, so it's not so much an accident as just a really, really stupid thing to do.
Key: Complain about this post
