Sometimes it's really tough being a Cardinals fan.
Truthfully, I have mixed emotions about the whole thing. It would be sort of nice for the Sox to break the curse. On the other hand, if they do then the Cubs will think they can do the same. And that must....never......happen.
Ok, here's how I see it. This season the Cardinals won 105 games and had the best record in baseball. They don't have to win the series to prove that they're a great team.
Has any team ever been 3 games down in the WS and then won 4 in a row? I'm trying to remember, but I think it has happened. The Cards have had much longer winning streaks than that. And look at what absolutely brilliant theater it would make for them to do that and for the Sox to blow it again. If that happens, then the curse will live forever.

Pah. A rivalry between the Cubs and Cards is so unequal. Pick on someone of your own talent. The Red Sox are cursed. The Cubs just aren't very good.
No, no team has ever come back from 3-0 to win in the postseason, except the Red Sox this year. They kept saying that during Game Four of the ALCS.
I'm conflicted as well. It's interesting to have a team that's cursed. It would be a blow to baseball history if the Red Sox won.
By the way, you walked Pedro Martinez? You walked the American League pitcher?

*hanging head in shame*
I thought it was just the playoffs they were talking about. All post season play?
I really hope they don't sweep it. That would be humiliating.
I'm so exhausted I can't even think straight. Getting about 4 hours of sleep a night - broken up - not straight through even. I'm too old for that. Old ladies need their sleep.

I am almost sure they said all post season.
I've got a bet running that the Cards win tonight. It would be absolutely amazing if the cursed team beats the best team in baseball. But they're playing better, eh?

On any given day any team can win or lose. That's why the game is fun. There is always the possibility for an upset.
Actually the Sox played better defense last night. They're improving. But their winning streak is now at 7. They should have maxed out.

Even with Ortiz forced to play defense. But then again, they had four errors in two back-to-back games. It' not hard to get better than that.
I know the Cincinnati Reds destroyed everyone else non-stop until they stopped being the only pro team.

The Reds have a great history. All teams have ups and downs. They'll be on top again one of these days.
I'm almost afraid to watch tonight's game. I washed my favorite Cardinal's t-shirt and have my red sox (no pun intended) laid out and Annie's bandana is ready. And I have laid in a supply of tortilla chips and cheese sauce for nachos.
Dang! No jalapeno slices. I don't want to go back to the store. I have a new nacho platter. It's terra cotta and has a glaze on the inside. YOu just fix your nachos, pop the whole thing in the oven and eat right out of the platter. Only one dish to wash.

You know, I was going to bet you the Red Sox would win, but I always lose our bets so I didn't.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
So... now what're we supposed to do with ourselves?

Missed your chance.
So, do you suppose the curse transfered to St. Louis? For being incompetent enough to let the Sox win? And it won't be lifted until the Sox go another 86 years without a win in the World Series!
What do we do with ourselves? We could hibernate until spring training, I suppose. Or find some neato baseball articles to work on. Which reminds me that my baseball encyclopedia is a 1992. I have to buy a new one.
This is a little bump in the road. Don't worry about me. I've survived worse debacles than this. At least the Sox won it fair and square. Not like the KC series where the umpires made a gazillion bad calls - all in favor of the Royals. I'm still mad about that one. When you lose because the other team outplays you - then that's unfortunate, but ok. When you lose because the unpires steal the game from you, then that's a different story.

If anything, the Curse lifted in Game Four of the ALCS, and was tranfered to New York. That's when the winning streak started.
A gazillion, eh?

Maybe 1 less than a gazillion. You always have to be so specific around here.
Why was it lifted in the ALCS? The Sox have been to the WS before - just haven't won. Because the beat the Yankees? Well, in order for them to get to previous WSs, they had to beat the Yankees.
Beat he Yankees. Has a lovely ring to it.
